I'm curious if anyone's ordered the new iMac and also has the G5 iMac. I was wondering what the motherboards look like side-by-side.

Apparently Apple's having Intel or someone else design the motherboards. I'm a big fan of Apple's designs, I like the time they put it in to remove all those ugly clusters of cpacitors and making most of the stuff symetrical (yeah, yeah. So I'm a sucker for design) and minimizing the use of cables.

One thing I can't stand about your average PC motherboard is how damn ugly it is.

While they weren't on the computers at Macworld, I'm also curious if Apple's started puting "Intel" stickers on the new Macs outta the box.

I thought I read where they (Apple) won't be doing that...but I can't recall for sure. Gosh, I hope not!

I'm not sure how much prettier the old iMacs were. Apple never really went for beauty in its toaster motherboards. My old iMac G3 looked even messier than that.

Exactly. Intel's motherboards are pretty much the gold standard.

Very pretty. (The pre-iSight generation, at least.)

Guess we'll have to wait for the towers.
