The Bush one is clever - it gets a reaction whatever your political affiliation. There are a number of copycats out there, most of them cheaper than the original.
Oh, and the kid in the Uk made considerably more than a million - the last 1000 pixels went on ebay for a (I think) over $100.000.

There are so many copy cats out there now - and so many simply just dont have any traffic of Pixels on them! Ive also looked t a similar idea which is in its early stages and think my idea has more longevity. You buy countries on a map - I think this would create more emotion, some would obviously become worth more, you can link thm to sites, pictures, create communities / forums - theres lots of potential.
