with a bat.

http://www.nbc6.net/news/6157690/detail.html

That's just mean. and nasty. It happened right down the street. The video that you've probably seen on tv shows two teens beating a bum with a bat. It happened right down the street from where I work (about 200 yards away). I've always said to myself as I walk by there "that's cool, they sleep where the cameras are". Ya know, if you have to sleep on the street, might as well have a camera pointing at you in case something bad happens.

Anyhow, while I did some crazy crap as a yoot, I knew better than to beat a man with a bat.

I hope they have the book thrown at them. Sucks for them, they probably figured it to be along the lines of 'mailbox bashing' or somesuch, but nope. Turned out a bit bigger than they probably expected.

My vote would be to beat them with a bat.

Something like this happened in Calgary but not to that extreme.
They beat him up and video taped it....4 guys or something and then pissed on him.

I think they got some prohibition.

Sick.

Imagine the impact on their families. Their parents must feel terrible. Their siblings are probably terrified.

Very Very sad.

So much evil in this world. My duty is to pray.

These "kids" are killers (actually, they are adults)... the fact that they picked on a homeless person (most likely with an addiction to drugs/alcohol OR a mental disorder) just compounds how horrible the killing was.

Gamers can all pretend that it isn't to blame, but there are people that are weak enough to be affected by it, and this can be a result of that. You personally might not be affected, but there are people that can be affected.

Disgusting. I have no respect for people arrogant enough to put themselves above others.

I read a story about some kids practicing 'bum-burning' years ago. It was in Austin Texas if I recall, kids sprayed gas on drunk or sleeping bums and set them on fire... more than once too. Their excuses? They don't feel it, they are drunk!

What's going on with people doing those kinds of stupidity?

You only missed it by one letter...

It's more common than we probably know. Most of the time, such stories, I suspect, only make the rounds on local media.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Yonkers can have better TV reception.

I guess the fuzz caught all three of them. If not for the camera I doubt anything would have been done. Sad.

yea, they're all caught. the third guy didn't beat them with the bat, he just shot a paintball gun at them WHILE they were being bashed by the other guys.

and yea, it wouldn't have been so big a deal without the videotape.

It happened in Corpus Christi about two years ago.

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/2638582.html

I do recall at around the same time (Summer 2004) that a homeless man had been beaten in our downtown district, stumbled into a lobby of a business, collapsed, and died.
