UK TV viewers will not get to see an episode of South Park which shows Nicole Kidman and fellow Scientologist John Travolta attempting to coax a fictional Tom Cruise character out of a closet, with Kidman saying: "Don't you think this has gone on long enough? It's time for you to come out of the closet. You're not fooling anyone."
Naturally, the robustly heterosexual Top Gun star took exception to this when Trapped in the Closet aired in the US. The episode also showed Stan - believed by the Cruise character to be the reincarnation of Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard - having a pop at Cruise's acting abilities, and Cruise reportedly waved the legal big stick at Paramount and threatened to sue if the offending programme was ever shown again.

An insider said: "Tom is famously very litigious and will go to great lengths to protect his reputation. Tom was said not to like the episode and Paramount just didn't dare risk showing it again. It's a shame that UK audiences will never see it because it's very funny."
Right then Cruise, you stupid little man. You interfere with my TV, I interfere with you.

Do I smell the beginning of an underground cottage industry selling bootleg South Park tapes on eBay to laff starved Brits?

Cheers for that Nath.

However... It doesn't let the silly little man off the hook. The war will continue.

I'm not a big South Park fan, but I do like their wicked, biting satire on current events and the various cults of personality in pop culture. I will now intentionally go about finding and viewing this episode. Thank you for pointing it out, Doofy!

P.S. I think the word you're looking for is "putz," as in "Tom Cruise is a putz." It works for me!

Oh, I already have the correct word. But it doesn't make it past the filters on the board.

The putz has now not only messed with my TV, he's forced me to come out of retirement. Because I'm going to write a concept album detailing what a silly little man he is... ..and put it out for free on all available channels.

Tom Cruise Is An Ass is a great thread.

He's become a parody, hasn't he?

Last I heard he refuses to marry the woman he knocked up, Katie Holmes.

That alone makes him a huge freaking asshole. He feels like it's okay to proselytize about psychiatry and pharmaceuticals but could care less about doing morally correct things.

Poor Katie Holmes. She snagged herself a controlling cult-loving sick twisted freak.

IMO Cruise is right up there with Miss Michael Jackson.

I heard she was worried he'd want to bounce on her belly and wouldn't let him within 10 feet.

I'm sure the South Park folks will cook something up to get back at him.

Hey Tom:

I think he sued the people who did that just to distract the public from that look of familiarity he got when he was sprayed in the face by the long black stick.
