So what's your favorite planet? Does it have any significant meaning to you?

Mine's Saturn. I'm sure a lot of people like Saturn as well, but for me it was the first planet I looked at through a telescope. My dad and my brothers and I went up to the hills in San Jose probably 20 years ago when Haley's Comet came by. My dad brought his big telescope and we were looking at other stuff while we waited for a good view of the comet. He pointed it to Saturn and I could actually see the rings.

How about you?

I hear Earth is the party planet.

Maybe I should post one that doesn't include Earth.

Well I love Uranus, and I hope to be able to spend time there, studying it closely and enjoying all the wonders it has to offer.

Just can't beat our mother Earth.

Jupiter, with its moons, is cool to look at with a small telescope.

They're large satellites in orbit around our sun. They could be considered planets but it's up for debate. For right now, they're just wandering large Kupiter objects. However, I felt like including them because they sure were exciting finds. Many of them are bigger than Pluto itself which has brought into question how we define what a planet is.

Venus. It is one of the first things in the night sky I see in the evenings, and I grew up loving astronomy.
