That is an easy one, its Starbucks. Enjoying some of their coffee now.

I say Tim Horton's too, but my guess is that most people here won't even know what it is.

Different prices, different league. For a poor student such as myself, Timmy's is better. I personally like Cookies By George, because it's still pretty cheap.

I'm not a poor student, and I still prefer Tim Horton's if I'm just after a basic cup of coffee. Tim Horton's almost always makes a good cup of coffee. I guess having very few types of coffee has its benefits... It's easier to get it right. For Starbucks, some have great coffee, and some don't. Who cares if a store has 2364 different types of coffee, if they can't make a good cup of coffee in the first place? Same goes for Second Cup.
Starbucks has a better variety of desserts than Tim Horton's, but a big negative for Starbucks is the absence of donuts. No real lunch food at Starbucks either.

I don't know who or what Tim Horton's is, but I don't really care for CharBucks Coffee so "Timmy's" got my vote by default.

Tim Hortons stores are mostly in Canada, but there are some in the US. They are owned by Wendy's.

Starbucks here. I think it's good coffee. People hate them because they are big... I just respect them for making a coffee shop that big.

I don't see why people willingly pay so much for Starbucks.
Besides, they don't have Timbits!

Starbucks & Tim Horton's is apples to oranges. Different tools for a different mission.
Horton's beats gas station coffee anywhere for a basic, cheap cup. The vast majority of people frequenting Starbucks don't do so for a basic cup. For the pricey espresso drinks, Starbucks wins.
No offense to the original poster, but dumb poll.

For half the price the coffee is three times better than in Starbucks. Never heard of Tim Horton.

I assume you're talking about coffee. TH is swill. Nice donuts though. I lived in Canada for six months and couldn't believe that people liked it, especially considering the number of real coffee places around. My favorite one there was Planet Roasters. I have friends bring me espresso beans from there when they visit.

There are a few Horton's in Michigan.
The Tim Horton's closest to me introduced the Emerald Ash Boring Beetle to our region. Every Ash tree within 5 miles had to be cut. To no avail apparently. The beetle has spread and now infests the area. They also developed a piece of land that used to be a nice green open space. near a river.
Oh, and Tim Horton's coffee there always tastes like the used the grounds twice.
I do not like Tim Horton's.
I am a home brewed coffee man now. And if I'm not home I am a mom-n-pop donuts and coffee man.

Starbucks is swill, and so is Tim Horton's when it comes to coffee. I will say that Tim's blueberry fritters rock though.
I'll stick with the place across the street that roasts their own beans. Places like Starbucks, TH's, Dunkin' Donuts, and the like are a last resort.

There's an Ethiopian restaurant I sometimes go to which does this, but only when you order it. So if you want coffee, you have to order it 20 minutes in advance. Awesome - the whole place smells like coffee when somebody orders it.

There is one corner in Vancouver that has a Star Bucks on all 4 corners of the intersection, 4 large Star Bucks, like shesh. Blendz is a Vancouver based Star Bucks, I know its in Seattle no idea if they are in other cities yet. But Vancouver is in the same boat with to many Star bucks, just behinds or as many as Seattle :|

Tim's loses for two reasons.
1) It's too economical. You just can't emotionally invested in a cup of coffee you did not pay $5 for.
2) They kept putting mayo on my sandwiches even though I asked them not to.
But it's kind of cool that in their way of thinking, a doughnut goes with anything. That's dedication.

Our Sr. Pastor loves Starbucks so when our staff has starbucks they (we when I was temporarily on staff) would go to starbucks and sit on the couches and what not and have the meetings. It was pretty cool. That said when he was gone one week... we did it at Timmy's . Starbucks is very much for a different group than Timmy's... I think I like starbucks more though.
