Anyone else see this? Personally, I thought it was a relatively lousy movie, and its only saving graces were the sex ad violence (the kinky vampire sex scenes were great, especially when Kate Beckinsale was involved ). Way to go Hollywood!

Have not seen it yet. I did like the first one. I expect Violence, Sex,Vampires and Lycan wrapped up in tasty effects. if so I will probably like this one too Really what more can you expect out of this sort of film.

I've noticed that vampire movies suck in general... except for The Lost Boys. That one was cool.

Meh. I might watch it if there was nothing on. Unfortunately I paid $9.50 to see it at the theater.
However, I thought Gary Oldman made a really cool Dracula. Unfortunately the absolutely horrible acting from the rest of the entire cast just screwed up the movie. But man can he do an evil laugh.

That movie took place in Santa Cruz which I've been to a few times (it's not far from Cupertino). My girlfriend's family is friends with the man who owned the comic shop they used for a few scenes in that movie. Anyway, he got to meet all the actors in that movie when they filmed is his shop.

People think it sucks if they havent seen the first movie. If youve seen the first movie and remember the premise and plot, it picks up IMMEDIATELY after the first movie ended. I thought it was great and really explained a great many things you were left wondering in movie 1.

I grew up in San Jose, lived there for 20 years. We'd go to Santa Cruz on occasion, but NEVER for the beach. Gods. With that sewer/river pouring into the ocean with the "Warning: Toxic Levels" sign in it... then cutting my foot on a friggin' car bumper. Eew.
We'd always go to Half Moon. Much better beaches.

I haven't noticed anything wrong with the water. I spent most my time on the boardwalk though. The beaches look better than any of the beaches up here in Seattle anyway (where I am spending my 2nd half of Winter/Spring). Maybe they've gotten rid of the sewage. My girlfriend has spent more time there, maybe I'll ask her about sewage...
And hey, those bumper cars were pretty cool.

What's the Dracula movie with Eddie Murphy in it? Vampire in Manhattan or something like that.

Plot: Count Dracula is in bad need of fresh blood from a virgin. Seeing that Transylvania has grown a poor place to find virgins, Anton, his servant, arranges a voyage to Italy where he expects to find plenty of virgins amongst the traditional catholic families. There he hopes to find a bride for Dracula to fill his constant need for blood. They stumble upon a family with 4 daugthers ready for marriage, but who are not all as innocent as they look like *cough cough*. The count discovers the truth about their non-virginity in a painful way. But when he decides to leave the place, he must face a peasant who has as much grief for the vampire as he does for the old social hierarchy.

I would go:
Innocent Blood
The Lost Boys
And then... well that's pretty much it.
I agree Bram Stoker's Dracula was a huge disappointment. There was that period for a few years there where Hollywood got the bizarre notion Keanu could act. What was up with that?

Actually, the best vampire movies were the Subspecies movies from Full Moon Entertainment. That movie house makes the best movies (Demonic Toys, Puppet Master series, etc)

Great America has good bumpcars. I think I'm the only one who's managed to flip a car. Hurt my neck, though. But it was worth it. Free soda at the emergency room.

Hah. Full Moon is a great indi producer for the movies they make, even if they're kinda cheesy. I think I've seen all their movies, including the one where they make fun of themselves... accidently open up a gate to some other dimension full of undead. Forgot what that one was called.

I was out of town a few months back when their traveling production show came thru town near halloween time. They show a few short films, sell merchandise, etc.
And oh, speaking of Subspecies, you can get the a box set now of 1 - 4, english version with original 'videozone' shorts at the end like the VHS copies had. Of course, the box set has been ordered.

Are we talking about the same ones? The one's down the ramp that goes next to the water ride. Sorta tucked under the boardwalk. The space bumper cars. If anything I thought they moved too slow.

In your opinion. Thankfully, not everyone has your taste, or the world would be very boring.
Hell, it's a vampire action flick, not "Finding Neverland". If you're expecting high drama or a very deep plot, this is not the genre for you.
Actually, Hollywood hasn't made a cerebral film in a very long time, at least not that's impressed me. They all have glaring flaws and speak to the lowest common denominator.

I liked bram stoker's dracula because at the time I was in a "Gary Oldman can do no wrong" phase. Yes, keanu sucked.

Some people just like bad movies. Plan 9 From Outer Space, for example, is so wonderfully horrid that you can't help but like it. Ok. You can help but like it. But you get the idea.

Again, you don't understand "opinions". That's ok though, most people here on MacNN don't either.
However, your personal attack on me was entertaining.
Quit being hostile, they're movies, and different people have different tastes in such things. Get a grip.

No no, I understand opinions. An opinion is saying, "I like blue", or "I like Underworld", those are opinions, you can have them, but saying that Underworld was a "good" film, on the other hand, that's stepping out of the area of simply having an opinion to critiquing art. For example, you can't say that Goosebumps, a series of books that expressing the same concept a million times using different adjectives, is "great reading", especially when there are other books so much better. So I'm not saying you can't like Underworld, I'm just saying it's a really poor quality film.
However, your personal attack on me was entertaining.
As was yours.

Sorry if I sound hostile, I'm just shocked so many people like this crappy movie. It's number one in the box office right now, can you believe that? I'm sure you can, you helped.
