I recall reading last year that a British researcher calculated January 23rd to be the most depressing day of the year, due to various factors including weather, sunlight patterns, holiday debt, weight gain, etc etc.

So, are you feeling depressed this week?

Luckily I've managed to shake off the winter blues this year, but when I look at a lot of people around me, I can tell that the dreariness of winter has completely taken hold.

Of course that would be depressing. He's from Britain after all. Here it's sunny and 30°C+, and I could do with a swim. Maybe even a beer to drown my sorrows

The Seattle Seahawks are going to the SuperBowl. This is a happy day and continues my uncanny streak of bringing good fortune to at least one sporting team in whatever region I live.

Seahawks, Red Sox, Patriots, Diamondbacks, Indians, SF Giants, 49ers, Lakers, Dodgers, Raiders, A's.

To besson: The record of good fortune I've 'brought' to the various teams, that's my MOJO! Haha!

A little bit yeah. Exams start this week for me and I'm not very well prepared. And my car needs to go in for a new timing belt which is expensive.
But the weather's nice. -3 at the moment and clear blue sky.

I would be depressed if I got paid a third world salary then taxed 40% in top of it

Missrable weather and hard cash is much more important to me than ice cold beer, giggly nubile ladies with tennis skirts rubbing suntan lotion into each other.

It was looking to be a really depressing day, but I finally got around to the things I had to do. Life is looking better.

After that David Bowie thread, this is absolutely the most miserable day of the year, yes.

I can't believe it got locked... Oh well, I guess I did have to go to work today. I was taking time off while the greatest thread grew to five pages.

I look on today as the same as every other day.

Currently looking out my window to see a beautiful New England scene while snowing.

Any day can be depressing just depends on the mood of the person.

I don't have any right now and it's winter so I don't think I will be able to go find one right now. Another few months and they will be trying to cross the roads again. Lets turn all the treads into turtle threads.

A friend's fiance just left for Iraq about an hour ago. I'm sure she'd attest to today being the most depressing day of the year.
