January 24 of 1984, what a day!
I remember when I met my first Mac, it was a "Pizza Box" (Performa) and since that day, my life changed forever!
What Mac Was your First?? 6100? 6300? Tell us!

Mac SE, 1MB RAM, 20MB Seagate hard drive, 800K floppy. The second series, when they'd just replaced the squirrel-cage fan with a regular one, but running slow. Gave this wonderful low hum, like a fishtank air pump. And the drive heads back then didn't tick, they squeaked.
I loved it dearly and still miss it.

I actually have one sitting in the studio now, but it doesn't have that charming fan noise, and it's not *that* machine...just not quite the same...

iBook blueberry with 6GB Harddrive and 128 RAM.
Very nice machine. Looking at this colored case just made me feel fresher. It also had the most comfortable palmrest ever.
Sold it because the screen was too small and there was no option to connect an external.

Too many to remember/count. However, I still held onto one of the first few Mac Plus', with the signatures on the inside of the case. Had 3, but now only have 1.

I remember my first one. It was a quadra 660 AV. Pretty decent actually. 25mhz, CD-ROM and 500 meg hard drive. It was amazing at the time. It even had A/V capabilities, and I remember hooking my VCR up to it and watching some things, and recording some clips. This was back in 1993ish. Man, I must have spend a LOT of hours on this thing playing marathon.

I started with Apple prior to the Mac. I purchased my first in 1983, an Apple IIe.

Quadra 700. I even over clocked it to 32mhz. PPC Macs were already out but I couldn't afford one. By the time I could afford a Power Mac I got the the 8500 132mhz. The Quadra lasted me about 2 years and the 8500 must have been about 3 or 4 years. The memories............

The first computer that I've used in my life was an SE/30. The first Mac that I owned myself was a Performa 5300 (I don't miss it ). Next was a PowerMac G4/400 AGP, I miss that one. Now I have a PowerBook Ti867, great machine that has never failed me but it will be replaced by an Intel PowerMac when they come out.

First Mac: PowerBook Duo 230 with 12MB of RAM, the floppy dock and the floppy drive. My college was running a special my senior year and I wanted one so I grabbed it. I bought the full dock a year later.
The college computer labs in which I worked had Mac SEs, a Mac SE/30, a Mac II, and the super-sweet Mac IIfx. My friends upstairs from me had a IIsi, IIci, and an SE/30.
Since then it's been a PowerComputing Power120, Apple G3/266 desktop, iBook 500/DVD, and my TiBook 667/DVI (I only have the TiBook right now...my step-aunt has the iBook and it still works great).
Coming soon: 12-13" MacBook Pro (?).

It's still amazing that the "1984" commercial is still one of the most popular.
"On January 24th Apple Computer will Introduce Macintosh and You'll see why 1984 won't be like 1984."

My first Mac was a 333Mhz iMac Blueberry. My next was a 900Mhz iBook G3, then later a 12 inch 1Ghz PowerBook. My next machine will probably be a MacBook Pro that I'll probably buy in late summer or whenever the Merom cores are out, and the software I use is universal.

Apple I've owned, not necissarily in the right order:
Apple //e <-- First computer - 80 column card, 2 serial cards, sound card, 128K RAM upgrade, color monitor, joystick, mouse, printer, dual floppy, Hayes "Micro" 300 baud modem. My favorite computer ever. Endless hours of Ultima V, Bard's Tale III, Lode Runner, and Karateka.
Macintosh Color Classic
Macintosh IIvx <-- First Mac - unfortunately.
Performa 6200 <-- Second Mac - yueah, bad choices.
PowerMac 8600/300 <-- Third Mac - one of the best Macs I've ever owned.
PowerMac 9600/350
20th Anniversary Macintosh
PowerMac G3/233
PowerMac G4/500
PowerMac G4 Dual 533
PowerBook G4 15" 1.5
PowerBook G4 15" 1.67

My first mac was a rev a flat panel iMac G4 800. The first consumer mac to include a superdrive! Before that if you wanted a superdrive your only option was to spend a pretty penny on the 867Mhz PowerMac G4 or Dual 800Mhz G4. Things sure have changed.
After that purchase, I eventually upgraded to my 1.33Ghz 12" PB. I really want to buy a new 13" MacBook. I'm just waiting for Apple to release them.

My first Mac was a Performa 475 (68LC040, 25 MHz, 8 MB RAM, 250 MB hard drive).
From then on I owned the following Macs (in no particular order):
A used PM 7100/66, a Mac Plus (the first which arrived in Denmark I've been told), a SE, IIcx, IIfx, a PM 7500, a Quadra 950, a Performa 6400, Performa 5260, Graphite iBook SE 366, PowerBook 1400, PowerBook 145b, 2 x PM 8500, Umax SuperMac S900 and Beige G3/300 desktop...
And now I have a B&W G3/450 MHz - a nice machine upgraded with 2 x 80 GB hard drives, 512 MB RAM, Mac OS X 10.4.4 and yesterday I manged to get hold of a Radeon 7000 PCI - so, yes, I'm quite a happy camper, except it's a bit noisy

I used Mosaic, Lynx, Netscape, Cyberdog, then back to Netscape. I used Lynx occasionally when I couldn't afford my internet connection. I'd dial into my BBS and pop open Lynx.
