Hey everyone... I'm quitting my job and going around the world, so I thought I'd help out my boss and help look for a replacement. It's a great job, with great people, in a cool eninviroment. Maybe you're interested?

The Stranger is looking for a Tech Support Specialist to work in our IS Department. This is a permanent, full-time position that reports to the IS Manager and is an integral part of the paper's production success.

Experience with the installation and configuration of desktops, workstations and laptops with Mac OS, as well as strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills are essential.

Tasks
* Investigation, analysis, and resolution of hardware issues including repairs, maintenance, technical assistance, and support of Macintosh-based computers and peripherals.
* Provide general guidance, assistance, and maintenance support to end users, as requested, on diverse software applications, operating systems, and hardware systems; maintains a high standard of customer service in dealing with and responding to questions.
* Perform routine, day-to-day hardware and software maintenance as assigned, and assists in proper upkeep and utilization of systems.
* Review, prioritize, and process incoming support requests.

Skills
* Knowledge of Macintosh systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
* Ability to diagnose and rectify Macintosh hardware and software problems.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical staff.
* Ability to install and configure computer systems, hardware, and peripherals.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group.
* Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
* Windows knowledge a plus.
