OK what's the best Mac-related podcast out there?

Let's say you had to drive an hour to work and back every day and wanted a good Mac podcast for your car, and you didn't have the time to look at mac news online so you rely on this Podcast to keep you up to date, as well as talk about cool new features and do useful software reviews, as well as commentary, analysis, etc etc.

Which Mac podcast which you say meets these standards?

I think a Mac podcast radio host could become famous in the Mac community if he had a great radio personality, great voice kinda like Alex Jones or something, and had good content etc. Something all of us would listen to even if we didn't have an hour car drive every day.

I agree with everything except your belief that Alex Jones has a great voice.

Ok just imagine for a second that Alex Jones was a mac fanatic and did his radio show on Macs. I think it would be highly entertaining and I would love to listen to him talk about Macs. That's all

I think the idea of the "pod" "cast" is stupid.

Then, yes, I would endure listening to his voice.

The Mac Cast - although it's generally only 2 x 1 hour shows a week. Find it in iTunes.

I used to listen to Inside Mac Radio, but that should be renamed 'Inside Video and Mobiles (with a bit of Mac relevancy) Radio'

I like the "The Mac Observer's Mac Geek Gab". http://www.macobserver.com/podcast/

It's a mix of discussion of news and answering listener questions. I tend to find that mac podcasts are geared towards newer mac users. However, every so often I hear about an application I've not come across.

I'd prefer something like macosxhints in a podcast format. I.e technical tips.

Agreed. It's Mac news and tips without any egos.

I know this isn't Mac specific, but 'This Week in Tech' deals with a lot of Mac related issues. It's also extremely well produced.

Maybe you should start listening to some of Stanford University's lecture podcasts.

How about the MacNN Podcast?

Shows are weekly, with speculation, product review, and contests to win!
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

Any chance you could up the recording volume? It's very quiet.

I knew these existed but didn't have much interest.

But since its Victor presenting, I'm there.

With bells on.

I think when Leo Leopold gets his show "MacBreak" or whatever going, that will be the #1 mac show in the media.

All of the Mac podcasts in iTunes frankly suck. They might have some good content, but the presentation isn't very good.

is there enough mac-specific content to make a really "great" show?

IMO — this week in tech is a pretty quality listening experience with a good combo of personality, knowledge, "star power" and humor. if they did just Mac stories... it would suck.
