Well, it's not for certain as we've only been able to catalog but a handful. But it's becoming aparent that planets like to form around single star systems, like our own, more often than they do with binary or trinary star systems. So the total number of possible planets in our Galaxy just climbed as most stars are single instead of binary as we previously thought.

The problem is that the majority are Red Dwarf stars. So the chances of a real Earth-like planet has gone down, but the total number of planets overall has skyrocketed.

Er, that link says pretty much the opposite of what you said...
