Thief in Lexus steals child's gold necklace

HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. Police are looking for a thief who yanked a gold chain from a little girl's neck outside a suburban Los Angeles market.

The January 26th robbery in Huntington Park, California, was caught on a surveillance camera. The video shows the five-year-old girl walking out of the store and sitting by the door. She's there less than a minute before a tan or gold Lexus pulls up and the suspect gets out of the passenger side. The man rips the girl's necklace off, then calmly walks back to the car and leaves. The child runs inside the store, where her mother was shopping.
Police say the girl suffered a bad cut on the back of her neck.
Well, we can't say for CERTAIN he was influenced but we can't know at this point that he WASN'T influenced by the Bowie TV spot.

If he's caught and tried his attorney can always cite the example in the XM Satellite Radio TV spot where David Bowie 'jacks' Snoop Dogg's necklace.

An instance where (to quote Michael Jackson's 'Blame it on the Boogie') they might 'Blame it on the Bowie!'

Progress and news waits for no one. Post ho and rape to your heart's content. This has to do with my having predicted the possible negative influence of the Bowie ad and here it MIGHT be.

I don't blame you. It would be absolutely amazing if I were PROVEN to have called this before it happened. You would have to admit I was right.

And nothing would make you happier.

Ok, ok, ok. I admit it. Yes. It would make me feel all warm and rosy inside.

But, then again, the influence of the TV commercial would be so subtle and someone of his ilk would be so dense that he probably wouldn't even realize that he has been adversely influenced.

The robbery -- caught by a store surveillance camera -- occurred about 2:10 p.m. last Thursday in front of the Estrella Meat Market, 2668 Zoe Ave., according to Huntington Park police Lt. John Navarrette.

A male got out of a car, walked up to the girl and pulled the necklace from around her neck, Navarrette said.

The suspect ran back into the car, which headed east on Zoe Avenue, then south on Seville Avenue, towards Florence Avenue, Navarrette said.

The girl suffered lacerations to the back of her neck, Navarrette said.

The suspect is described as 17 to 20 years old, with black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt with the image of an unknown person, black pants and white sneakers, Navarrette said.

The car the suspect was in appears to be a four-door, 1990s Lexus, gold or tan, with a darker shade along the bottom, chrome rims and dark tint on the windows, Navarrette said.

There was no description of the driver.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Detective Neil Castelli at (323) 826-6647 during daytime hours or the department's main number, (323) 584-6254, nights or weekends.

When I lived in the Natomas part of Sacramento, I think I saw 6 of these every day.

Yeah? So, what's the best kind of soap to use on a new car? I was thinking about that new Mr. Clean system.
