He played Grandpa on the Munsters TV show, had a nice restaurant and was politically active. He was 95.

I'll miss him - he was a very friendly man. I had the chance to meet him a couple of times at his restaurant in the village back in the 90s. He use to stand outside and greet people to lure them in, then threatened to bite you with his fangs if you didn't come in.

Now CNN reports he was 83. What gives? According to IMDB, he was born in 1910.

He was likely lying about his age to the media. He was a good guy. It's likely for the best that he passed on, because I heard his health was failing around four years ago.

The actor was widely reported to have been born in 1910, but his son Ted Lewis said Saturday that his father was born in 1923.
