I will be celegrating my 8th year as a single man.

The Valentine day thing is very depressing for me, and my birthday is the day after...

So I will work on the 14, take the day off on the 15th, and get myself in a coffee shop and read on entanglement...

This girl I met about a month or 2 ago has been hangin out with me pretty much all day everyday for the mast 2 weeks and she told me the other day to make sure I don't have to work on Valantines day. but she wont tell me what were doin. The suspense is killin me!

To be fair, Valentine's Day has much older roots than the others you mentioned. It did start out as something other than the overcommercialized beast it has become.

If you really want a fake holiday, look up 'White Day' as celebrated in Japan. There's a holiday which was literally thought up and implemented from scratch by candy companies. It also ties in with the Japanese Valentine's Day customs, which are... interesting... to say the least.

I've never dated girls that really believed in Valentines Day (see simonjames' comment). If Jesus did send me one of those things it would be the most I've gotten.

I don't expect to get anything for Valentines Day. That said, there are some things that my girlfriend and I will do to celebrate the holiday that I wouldn't want coming from Jesus instead.

I'm not really sure. It's because of the treatment that I have revevied from two members on this forum. Feeling depressed and hut. Not sure just what I will do now.
