I don't know exactly why I'm trying to an iPod nano, seems a lil silly since I just got my new one... but either way I just spent 40 bucks this week end on iTunes... brining me up to the 401 purchased tracks from iTunes mark. I think it's just that bloody counter... dang I'm an iTunes addict... oh well... better than other things I could be addicted to .
Anyway so do you buy more, and what're you at for purchased tracks?

i only buy when I have those gift cards, or contests similar to that Pepsi top thing last year. Never spent any of my own money there.

Oh man, $400 down the drain. When music is available for free, it doesn't make sense to pay for it.
disclaimer: I have never downloaded a pirated song.

Nope. I buy songs I am interested in when I'm interested in them. For example, I bought a whole album because of one song I absolutely HAD to have (David Bowie and Bing Crosby singing a duet called "Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth." But it happened to be included (the only place I could find it, in fact) on a Martha Stewart Christmas album along with some other really great holiday music, so I bought the whole album.
Sometimes I remember hearing a song and just can't get it out of my mind until I can listen to the whole thing. Often that means I have to buy it. Darn memory!
But the contests and promotions don't mean a thing to me. Counters are just a bunch of numbers to me.

Being from Quebec, because of our local Laws related to gambling and lottery, it makes no sense to buy more with the hope we could win anything.

Actually it's very well spent. I don't steal music, the only cases in which I pirate music is when I can't find the CD on iTunes or if the band's broken up, and the CD isn't still for sale etc etc, I have about 2100 songs in my library less than 100 of them are in anything other than AAC (in other words I ripped or bought them on iTunes). And these last several albums I've bought since a bit before this time last year have been very much worth it. I'm always needing newer fast paced music to keep me from getting bored at the gym and what not. Not to mention I need music going in the background the read or do anything else (attention problems, if I don't have background noise I can't concentrate). And frankly in light of the fact that these albums have helped me both at school and at the gym, I'm very happy to have only had to pay that much for them. I don't see why I would pay 400 dollars for an iPod and expect the content I'd put on it to be free.
