I've never heard of sugar soup. Looks strange, but I'd be willing to try it. Where do you suppose I could get this soup? (bad news here, I live in Oklahoma)

It's not sugar soup. It's very sweet, yes, but the main ingredient is red (azuki) beans, and the big white chunks are pounded rice cakes called mochi. It's a Japanese desert dish called oshiruko or zenzai. You might be able to get the real thing at a Japanese restaurant, or a just-add-water kind of thing at an Asian grocery.

forkies, did you make it yourself, or was it the instant kind that comes in its own styrofoam dish?

My usual snack is a piece of fruit or a bowl of very crazy cereal

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.

Waaaay to sweet for me....

Simple, healthy cereals with frozen fruits (blue or black berries) and goat milk does it well for me. Sometimes, I'll add some parmesan cheese on it.

Iemon is a great brand. I love their bottled green tea, which is available in vending machines and convenience stores everywhere in Japan. I just wish it was easier to get in America.
