Have you had any encounters with the supernatural? Are you Elvis? Have you ever bent a spoon? Have you seen God? Satan? An angel? Have you seen a ghost? Have you been possessed? Have you ever read somebody's mind? Have you seen an alien? UFO? A wookie?
We had a thread sort of like this before, but it was a good while ago. This one is broader in nature... if you've had some weird stuff happen to you or somebody you know, let's hear it! I want to be amazed and freaked out.

I haven't experienced any of those. I just pray and try to follow Jesus, which is a difficult path.

During a confirmation, I once bent a spoon that turned out to be part of a really expensive silverware set. "Say, what happened to this spoon that is part of a very expensive silverware set? Do you know what happened to it?" That was kinda weird.

I stayed in a smallish isolated town in India where possessed people are said to gather. They're not really possessed, just demented, but they were real.. and you could hear them crying all night long. Pretty scary.

I had a dream last night that you started a thread on the supernatural, besson. Except it wasn't exactly about supernatural stuff, it was closer to what's your favorite cookie. Come to think of it, I don't think it was you, maybe it was SimeytheLimey. But then I woke up and remembered this story about a guy who walked into a bar with a tiny penguin on his head and nobody said a damn thing!

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character....
OOPS! Wrong thread!

I have a good friend who told me about an interesting, unexplained experience. He owns a small island off Tahiti (rich bastard) on which he built a view-centric house. Without much need to preserve privacy, it's more or less a modest structure supporting a lot of huge windows. He had some friends over right after it was built and during dinner noticed a light approaching on the horizon.
"Helicopter," they naturally thought. It kept coming, they didn't think much of it at first, but the odd thing was that it just kept coming. This went on for 45 minutes or so, which is an awfully long time for a helicopter to be coming at you.
At one point it became evident the light was quite close, yet they couldn't hear any noise or detect any particular haste. Now confused, they 6 of them went outside and were astonished at what they saw. He described it to me as basically looking like an ice cream cone on its side: a sphere followed by a cone. The sphere had the bright light, the cone had smaller, dimmer lights. It was silent and moving no faster than 5 miles per hour.
They were all dumbstruck, of course, and just sort of stared at it. As it passed overhead, it apparently noticed them. It darted and sped away, all completely silently.
Odd, eh?

10 Chinese people trying to get into a lift on the ground floor before the 10 people in the lift have time to get out.
Can you explain it?
Regarding more serious matters I have been lucid dreaming for about 18 years, its not unexplained, but its a real and amazing phenomena that 98% of the world have no comprehension of. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dreaming

i had just left for college, but as kids some friends and i used to go to odd places to drink. mike said he found a new quiet location to party - a graveyard. ben was up for it, and agreed to meet him and some girls there late one night.
so ben gets to the church and proceeds to walk back into graveyard waiting for mike&co. to arrive. he waited awhile, but still no friends. so he found a central location, sat down in the quiet dark listening for his company. he was among tombstones, and while he waited, one next to him proceeded to fall over. ben’s not spooked easily, but that rattled him. nevertheless he decided to lift the stone back into place, and he managed to get it upright. but after that he had had enough and walked back to the church. there was mike and friends in the parking lot. he told them he’d been waiting for them in the graveyard. mike looked at him like he was nuts saying, i didn’t mean the “graveyard” graveyard, i meant here. so ben recounted what had happened with the tombstone. mike apparently thought this was cool, and since the stone was loose, wanted to try and grab it. they made there way back to the stone. mike managed to get it over, but not to move it, so he left it and eventually they went there ways. then at school i got news mike was in a car accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down. ben was supposed to be with him for the roadtrip but was called away at the last minute and mike left without him. ben imagines that he initially righting the gravestone granted him some sort of pardon from a similar fate.
sorry, that’s all I got.

I occasionally have what can only be described as Deja Vu. I'll dream something, and then a day (or week, month, whatever) later the scene I dreamt will take place exactly as I dreamt it. It's always just a second or two, and it's never anything important, it'll just be some random occurrence.
It happened just today, in fact - what's weird is it's not just the circumstances are similar to a dream, but rather every single detail of what's going on is exactly the same - if my sight were a monitor, I would say that every pixel of my dream was exactly duplicated in real life, for a matter of two or three seconds.

i was waiting for takeout at a diner. it was lunchtime and crowded. i stood at the counter as the waitress was busily wiping the counter and in doing so, she knocked over a glass of water about half full.
the glass flew by me and was on it's way to the floor. at this point the waitress and i both thought it's going to break and were bracing for it.
suddenly, i grabbed the glass and without spilling any water, caught it as it was almost horizontal and placed it back on the counter as if nothing happened. we were both surprised.
that's it.

I was married at the time and my ex-wife and I were at our local grocery store checkout line when I saw the store staff having problems with a scofflaw. I suppose he was suspected of shoplifting but he was resisting initial efforts to comply or cooperate with whatever they were trying to get him to do or not do. The hair went up on the back of my neck and I was going to join them to help subdue him when after more than a few tense seconds the police came and took over. My wife asked if I was going to wrestle with him and I said I wanted the store people to know their customers supported them.
Well, a couple hours later I got a call from the East coast that my sister had gotten into a fight and was stabbed. She passed at about the same time my 'hackles' were up.
My ex wondered what might have happened if I had gotten physically involved in the store altercation, if my sister might have lived and I might have succumbed.
It was a freaky realization.

2/14/89: My ex-girlfriend and I are on a night roadtrip in
outstate Minnesota and she is driving, I am the passenger.
We are passing near Biscay, Minnesota when we look to
our right and see an empty farm field.
We look up and see two pairs of green and red lights
staying stationary over the field. Our minds conjured
that this was the aircraft warning lights on a pair of
smokestacks over a dark factory with no other lights on.
We both say out loud "is that smokestacks?" We stop.
I get out of the car! The lights sit that motionless
for maybe 10-20 seconds.
And the lights start to move in unison. She freaks and
gets back in the car.
The lights are definetely connected to moving air vehicles.
She stays in the car terrified but I am rapt at full attention.
And the lights descend - they were probably 500-600 feet to
the north and then they descended to around 200 feet overhead,
very low.
I finally yell "get out here, they're planes - check this out!"
She gets out and is definetely apprehensive about these things
getting lower and lower.
They were large, dark, triangular air vehicles. The streetlights
actually lit the planform up pretty well although the empennage
was not the same as on the Stealth fighter or bomber - these
were twin downwardly canted tailplanes somewhat like the F4
Phantom Jet style but more modern. They were sleek but......
I need to tell you what I "felt" about them - that they were
"truck like" - I don't know why I say that but they seemed
very heavy duty.
These were not Harrier Jump Jets as they would have been
louder than hell at 200 feet and the Harrier didn't look this
modern.
At the rear of the winged structure there were two dim white
lights pointing downwards near where retracted wheels would be.
The wings had standard green and red caution lights. I saw no
tarps pods, no strobes, just smoothed out bodywork and just
barely saw what the tail would look like.
There were two, one travelling in front of the other and they
banked overhead towards the southeast at walking speed(!)
A very muted jet engine sound could be heard.
I've never heard an aircraft so close yet be so quiet.
Any normal jet would be earsplitting at that speed and distance.
We turned around got in the car and started following them
because this was a once in a lifetime spotting of an
unancknowledged secret aircraft.
We followed them at first going 20, 30, 40 miles an hour.
They soon got beyond highway speed and followed a track to the
southeast and we eventually lost sight of them in the distance.
Years later I mentioned my sighting to someone who follows the
secret aircraft world and he mentioned my sighting to Jim Goodall
who is a famed aviation writer.
He was told that the US was testing a VTOL Stealth aircraft
somewhere in the midwest but that no-one had actually
reported any sightings of it. Now we know they were
testing two of them in the late 1980s in in-the-middle-of
nowhere Minnesota.
I spoke to my neighbor who was a long-time pilot for
Northwest Airlines and asked him if there was anything
special about Biscay, Minnesota with regards to aviation
or FAA designation.
He told me that near Biscay was an air corridor used for
transfer of aircraft from one region of the country to another.
I've not seen another aircraft like it since that night. It wasn't
like any purported aircraft picture I'd seen before (this covers
TR3 Black Manta, Brilliant Buzzard, Aurora, Fastmover, etc.).
That night spurred me on an aviation interest that continues to
that day. I still can't believe how lucky I was - if I'd had a decent
camera I would have been able to take unbelievable pictures.
The juxtaposition of the low altitude and the streetlight lighting up
the underside of the aircraft still makes me think that either they
were sloppy, I was lucky or they wanted it to be seen.
I have no doubt they saw us stop because they started moving in
earnest once we stopped the car.
This aircraft still "does not exist".

here's another one:
a friend and i went to a late showing of a movie. it was about midnight when we got out.
half walking half looking for a cab, we worked our way home. then we see a guy around 50-60ish lying on the sidewalk. he was drunk but we got him to get up. it seems that his wife died recently and he was a broken man. "my wife died." he would mutter between sobs.
we asked him where he lived and helped him home. but he was so out of it that we had to get his keys to get in the building and apartment. we got him to bed as he thanked us the best he could.
there we were in some guy's very nice apartment with pictures on the walls of his life. i tried to imagine his life and memories. and if we wanted to we could have robbed the place but of course we didn't. we left the keys on a table and left.
i wonder if the guy remembered anything. meh
