I want the less dressy one, but I wear blue jeans most of the time, so I want it to look good with lighter bluejeans, I'm chubby, and I'm 20. Which one?

Go for the lighter one.

They look the same to me. Anyhow, this is probably not the answer you're looking for, but I would choose none of those two.

Yes, it's the same picture, color corrected to show both variations.

im somewhat chubby and when i wear a lighter colored jacket, it always makes me look even more chubby. if i had to choose, i'd go for the darker one, depending on the fit, it should make you look a little thinner. this is why most of my jackets are darker ;-)

So how on earth is one more "dressy" than the other?

darker clothes are considered more dressy. black suit looks way more dressy than say a light blue one. a deep blue suit would look good as a dress up. except for white. depending on the situation, white tuxs would be a better choice, BUT the white tux needs to look really snazzy and not just plain. thats what i've grown up believing. anyone else can comment about what i said and dissagree/agree

i hate LL Bean with a mostly neverending passion.
having said that, I actually like this particular one a little bit. its cut like a jean jacket and kinda funky.
still it's cut too boxy, not exceptionally flattering for thin boys or chubby ones.

You know, like standard 504 (I think) Levi's - lighter color. The jacket is suede. I love LL Bean. :-) I used to live 5 min away from their headquarters... great store!

I would go for the first one. Think that the light brown looks very nice

The darker one. Us "husky" guys should avoid most light clothes. Browns and blues always go together, but then, I'm almost 50 and have NO fashion sense. Doesn't really matter as long as you like it. Life is just too short to give a d*** about clothes anyway.

Giday,
Well in regards to which one of these garments look better, I would have to say that the 'light brown' one looks better. Mind you, the colour isn't all that light anyway, if you are a 'husky' fellow, I really think it wont make you look larger than you want to be. Since you are 20, you really want to be sticking with the 'fashion colours' and right now black isn't all that popular (in Australia anyway!). Don't be afraid to experiment, how about getting a designer brand, is that an option? No matter what you look like, wearing a fashion designers clothes makes you stand out from the crowd, in a good way! I know from experience, ever since i started buying D&G clothing i have had nothing but great comments. Mind you I guess you might need to work on the biceps if you want a fashion t-shirt/polo.
Check this out, or anything from the D&G line. http://www.raffaello-network.com/raf...mp;rangeid=355
Good luck.

So have you purchased a jacket yet?
