besides quicktime, preview and of course itunes. does apple make any other applications that run on windows or linux?

I don't think so. It is/was there to sell Macs to the education market. You could only get the Windows version as an educational customer afaik.

No, but wasn't its predecessor Picture Viewer distributed with Windows versions of QuickTime?

I had ClarisWorks 3 + 4 for both Windows and Mac when I first got my Quadra and didn't have a Mac printer. SneakerNet!

All of the open sourced command line stuff could run within Windows under Cygwin. This includes Darwin Streaming Server, and several other things on the Developer site.
