I never took singing in school seriously because I had this idea that it was kind of gay to take it seriously. I felt the same way about dancing.

Now, I regret not knowing how to sing very well as a musician. I still don't dance and feel silly trying.

Anybody else like me, or do you have no problems singing?

Nah, I don't sing and don't regret it. I do regret not being able to play an instrument, though. I hated piano, but I'd love to play the guitar or violin.

That would make me a quadruple horror. I sing, play, dance and talk well enough to keep people laughing at me and not wit' me. I've done two of the four professionally.

I'm not a professional or nothin', but I like singing. I don't feel self-conscious about it unless it's just an awkward setting.

I don't even try dancing, though.

I sing so well, people run away from me to tell as many as they can.

I can sing very well in the privacy of my car or shower. I'm particularly fond of singing "Rule Britannia" and "Music is the Victim" (scissor sisters). No pun intended there.

I think I can sing, but sources tell me otherwise.

I sing in the car. I feel stupid at a stop and notice someone is watching me. But sometimes I notice someone is be-bopping along with the same song I am.

OK, I sing like a sick duck, geeze come on give me a break.

Anyone can sing....doing it well is another story though.

I sing so poorly that deaf people cringe just reading my lips.

I sing to the music in the car, and at home, and, sometimes at work, and I've been told I have a good voice.

I love singing, I do it often. I have a few reasons to believe I'm pretty good.

I'm around singers quite often (usually opera-types) and don't regret not learning to sing (well, correctly, or whatever, in any style). Absorbing/emulating/incorporating the best qualities of singing is a good thing for instrumentalists to strive for.

I'm a songwriter/guitarist and I used to sing a lot. My voice sounded passable when I recorded with reverb and a double track. I can hold a tune just fine, but otherwise it sounds like crap...just a crappy tone IMO.

But I still love singing. I get together with a friend/guitarist and I like harmonizing and hiding my voice in the mix.

"'Jelly Hat' sounds silly," I told Prince. "How about something poetic, like 'Raspberry Beret.'"

I'd say that's a kind of an E-Z, Canadian, friendly, neutral, smackdown.

I can "studio sing" - i.e. about 500 takes to get the phrase right. But all in one go with folks listening? No way. Good tone but no tune.

I can't sing. My voice is just too low/weak.

I'm a professional tenor - if anyone here in the UK needs a tenor for weddings, funerals etc, or needs a professional barbershop group for any event, PM me!
I'm able to mix singing in the Cathedral choir with freelance journalism at the moment. Singing evensong at the end of a stressful day is the perfect way to relax. I feel sorry for anyone who can't sing.
