Made by microsoft
Comes out just 2 days after apple releases its new products.
Its probably portable hence the line "and where i can go" plus the name origami.
I think it might also be touch screen because of the first line of the ad "touch me"
It could be a music/video/game playing device but no matter how good it is il probably stick to the ipod because it isn't made by microsoft.

IMHO, it's time for Apple to offer an ultra-portable Mac running OS X. I'm not talking about a smaller iBook, I'm talking about a LARGE iPod that has OS X running on it.

It looks like a excuse for something to do with that Windows 'tablet edition'. The entire promo/ad linked above reminds me of the ones they showed when that HP tablet first arrived.
Stuff like this isn't going to become 'mainstream' until those 'roll-up LCD's' finally arrive. Regular LCD's at a size that makes one of these things 'useful' is to bulky, heavy and consumes way to much power.

If Apple offered such a device, I would buy it.
Of course, I don't have an iPod because I can manage without a ton of music most of the time. I'd buy something "origami"-sized for the compact web surfing and note-taking capabilities. Media would just be gravy. Seems like the sort of thing that Apple won't bother with because there will be 1) people who don't care, 2) people who think it's awesome but can't justify the expense, and 3) people who'll think it's awesome & buy it. And group 3) probably wouldn't be very big.
Still, Apple, bring on the MacBook nano. Please.

its interesting but too limited. its large, heavy, undoubtably requires a media center enabled pc to connect to, etc. the only thing they didnt show it doing would be the only thing I would be interested in doing on it: reading an ebook.
it also breaks the heterosexual man rule: if it requires a fagbag to carry it, it's too damn big.

hickey, stop yelling at me, or I'll, um, pee in your lobby or something.
I listed the 3 groups in the first sentence and then referred to the 3rd group in the second sentence. I suppose I shoulda left off the right paren in the reference to avoid making your head explode.
Um, meelk, plenty of hetero men already carry a backpack or messenger bag (especially bike couriers, many of whom are total jocks). Also the gays and the ladies buy gadgets, too.
Then there are also the hetero men who don't actually care if random people on the street think we're gay.

I know a bike messenger who owns her house, and I think I've heard of others. And plenty of others have custom bicycles that certainly cost way more than than origami could possibly sell for. Some of those kids work crazy hours. Also, a lot of 'em get hit by cars and wind up with big insurance settlements (it's certainly the driver's fault a lot of the time).
Oh, and plenty of folks who aren't couriers still carry the messenger bags. I was just pointing out that the couriers are particularly dude-ish.

The biggest thing about this M$ "origami project" is the hype. I'm certain that whatever it is won't hold a candle to the hype, and that I won't need or want one.

Naw, this is different all together. Apple uses different tactics than this.
It looks like something you'd see on a movie. It's that hokey.

Nothing wrong with using hype to help market your products if said product succeeds in delivering most of it's promised features. It's a pretty common marketting strategy to exaderate the benefits of your product or service.
Apple typically succeeds in living up to most of thier hype in some way or another. M$ howver, typically fails in some way or another. M$ is typically all hype and no product. This whole Windows Vista senanigan that's been going on all this time is more about the hype than it is perfecting the product. M$ will release it when they want regardless of the state of it's build.
