I bought my first item ever on fleabay the other day, cost me a whole $9. While there's lots of things on there that I'd love to buy, but my main reason for this purchase(and soon possibly a few other small items) is to get some feedback so I can begin selling some things I've got laying around. I'm under the impression that selling something without any prior feedback is just not a good idea, as you'll be overlooked, no one wants a headache with a possible idiot-seller.

So I get my purchase yesterday, was happy. Logged in to leave feedback for the item, and the seller "is no longer a registered user on eBay"?! so now I can't leave feedback, and I won't get feedback in turn.

Have any of you ever sold anything on eBay without first purchasing something? maybe I could sell something to a friend on there and they can leave me feedback for my first sale?

I started with zero feedback when I listed my first item.

I wish you all the best with your purchases and selling. Just be careful.

I had 5 feedbacks as a buyer and 0 as a seller. I must admit, I think I would've gotten more for my Pbook with some feedback, but I sent them to MacNN to check up on those who asked. That seemed to satisfy them. I would sell a few small items first. BTW- even tho I asked, my buyer did not leave feedback asshole.

People- always leave feedback if you are happy.

I wanted to sell my iPod (1G) on eBay years ago, but had no feedback. Instead I went about selling 10 useless items around my house (stuffed toys, old manuals, cables) and made over $200!

Then I went and sold my iPod for a very nice price with my +10 feedback. You got any crap you want to sell?

It is actually safer to be the seller than to be the buyer.

I sold my first item on eBay with 0 feedback. An old printer for around $50 that only cost me that much to begin with.

I've since collected 110 or so feedback, mostly from selling.

I love eBay and have about 1200 positives.

In a row.

Well, you gotta start somewhere. The main thing is to limit who the buyers can be, either by feedback or location, depending on the value of the item you're selling. Good luck!

I'm leery of ebay and so have stayed away.
