It just happens to be under the "Windows Blog" I personally don't see the big deal with the supposed graphics chip issue with the Mini that she's complaining about. If it works, who cares and who's really going to be using the Mini as a gaming rig, seriously?

Yeah, I guess calling it a power-stealing siphon hose wouldn't have sounded too good.

Actually if you read the story it was MacCentral that started it AND the point is 100% valid.

i'm kinda glad i got the previous version Mac mini for my folks. As far as "computers" go, it'll perform adequately from day 1 out of the box. what will all apps optomized, a GPU for games, etc. And the point of getting it for them was to get them to experience a Mac, and hopefully next year get a new iMac.

If i had got them the new mini there'd be performance issues on most Apps and not good support for games (my dad's into flight sims) and so the whole "experience" wouldnt be as great as it should be. so, sans the more USB2 port, it was a great buy.

The point is valid that Apple flipflopped in their marketing.

But if it's faster, I honestly don't care what kind of chip it is or if it uses system RAM or not.

My mom has a Mac mini. She uses it for browsing the net and reading email. That's it. She could do that on a LC if so inclined, but considering I got the Mac mini for free, I gave her that so she'd have a modern OS to use.

I think my mom is the type of person that the mini is targeted at. Not people setting up "gaming rigs." Get over it. If you want to play games, first of all, you're using the completely wrong OS. Face it, if you wanna play computer games, you get a Windows box. If you're the type of person to actually spend $1500 on a gaming PC, then the Mac mini is NOT for you.

So shut the f*ck up already about the god damn integrated graphics in the Mac mini.
