Hi,
Well after a couple of months i have decided to bite the bullet and go back on the "juice".Now for the men on these forums using rogaine are you using a generic brand containing minoxidil or are you using the official stuff. How does the quality and consistency compare?
I got tired of people telling me to just shave it and get on with my life.

I actually think hair is overrated.
Ed Harris is damned sexy.
Seriously, I sometimes think men worry too much about it.
It's only hair and it's not a big deal.

Yup, shave it. There's a reason people keep telling you this.
I started losing my hair when I was young as well (younger than 20) and the thought of shaving my head for the rest of my life was a little hard to get used to at first. I think Costanza on Seinfeld said something like "these are the remnants of what was once a great society of hair" that kind of encapsulates that feeling. But trust me, no matter if you (probably wrongly) think that you can't pull it off, trying to fight against a receding hairline looks worse.
As for the ladies, Cody is right, plenty dig bald guys. Grow out a little facial hair, be confident and comfortable with yourself, and you'll be banging any hot chick you want. My girlfriend is an ex-UCLA Bruins cheerleader and she gives me wicked head massages after I get done giving myself a trim (yes, I'm bragging).
So screw rogaine, use the money you save to buy a nice pair of clippers and BZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

I looked into meds it when my hair first started going, but I'm happy with how I look, and don't need more medications in my life. Glad it works for some people.

it occurred to me that the back of my head started to feel extra cold in cold weather AND I took some pictures of myself and I noticed a widening hair gap. It has started ! I will look like my dad soon !!
i won't experiment with hair lotions. i have always kept my hair trimmed short so i don't really care about it. Feeling insecure because you become bald must be a bigger turnoff to others is my opinion.

I have an uncle who uses Dutesteride. It stops loss immediately but you have to stay on it. There is also a new transplant procedure called DHI http://www.dhiglobal.com/ that is not a bullshit thing like we see in our inbox spam.

This can be read in many different ways
As per the thread, I have been loosing some hair. My mother's father wasn't bald, my dad is, could this be related to stress and sleeping patterns? I'm 21.

What you could do is grow your public hair really long, trim it, and tape it to your head. It works well.

I started losing my hair when I was in my early 20's. I did rogaine for a couple of years and it did help "slow down the retreat" but didn't stop it. It's not worth it in my opinion, so I spent 15 dollars at Walmart and bought a pair of sheers. It was a great decision!
1. zero maintenance
2. wife likes it
3. CHEAP! Although my hair was falling it, it grew like a weed! I was getting a cut every 2 weeks to keep it looking good. Now i just get a buzz from the wife and it saves me at least 30 bucks a month!
4. it does make me look a little "rough around the edges" with some facial scruff, but i consider that a good thing.
If you are going to do rogaine, try the generic target stuff. It will save you a little bit of cash...

Thats one thing i am considering. There is about a 20-25 dollar difference per bottle.I am just curious about it's consistency and quality versus the legit stuff.

I have been fortunate and kept all my hair. Took after my mother's side of the family. My hair wasn't something that I thought that much about.

Ya, that's it. Costs them about $20 a month and hell did it create some miracles for the 3 people I know on it. They said they don't get any side effects.

Another vote for shaving it, dude. Before you know it, you'll turn into a chick, worrying about your hair so much.

Just say **** it, shave it, and get on with your life. Yeah, I know you said you are tired of hearing that, but once you just forget about it, it ceases to become an issue. I started shaving mine when it became pretty apparent that my hairline's days are numbered. Of course I had worn my hair high and tight since 1989, so there wasn't that much more to go anyway.

See? Good enough for me! Just try and avoid that zombie bite I got there

Who knows? All the guys in my family are bald, so it was a pretty easy determinant for me. What's funnier is that all the guys that married in to my family are bald now too, even if they had a full head of hair before... Something tells me it has to do with all the crazy ass women in my family.
If you're losing good amounts of hair, it could be stress, lack of sleep, diet, genes, lots of stuff. That's probably not the answer you wanted to hear if you were looking to do something about it. If it's just starting to come on and seems like it's going to be persistent, I would say give yourself a buzz cut. You keep some hair on your head that way and it'll help to thicken things out.

At first it was stress when my mon died.Poeple noticed it was patchy all over.I took the stuff and everything was dandy till the gp stopped propecia and then everything didnt work out as well.I mean i might shave it one more time before i start taking something.I guess its a number 2 or 3 for me again.

I don't know how true it is, and I sure as hell ain't gonna check to find out, but one of my coworkers tried propecia for a while and he says it worked a little too well. He claims that three years later his wife is still shaving his back for him. And she doesn't care for that job one little bit. So there you go, something you might want to check into before taking that.

Shave it.
Mine's going, and that's what I do. I got tired of having to put sunscreen in my hair to avoid burning the top of my head (I'm not big on hats).
