Seriously, if the internet weren't around, we wouldn't even be able to have this conversation.

Isn't the internet awesome?

Without the internet, some of us would probably be outside more often and in better shape because of it. Probably more sexually active. With less debt due to the lack of large hardware purchases. With less of a chance of developing Carpel Tunnel.

Screw all that **** though. Without the internet, I woudn't be anywhere near as good at StarCraft as am. And that's all that matters.

We'd all be typing away in Safari and thinking...

I'd still be using an analog four track recorder to produce my music.
Utterly depressing.

I would still have to drive to a library to do literature work or having a remote one sending me articles for about 20-30 bucks (as it was in the nineties).

BTW, we have a kinda related discussion over there yyy

I certainly wouldn't have the awesome friends that I have met.

Also, once after botching my CoreGraphicsLib file (trying to install some stupid cursor dealy) my G4 refused to boot into OSX.

So I fired up OS9 and AIM, located Star Wars Guy (bitfly) and he sent me a pristine file, OSX was ressurected.

to teh Internets (and Star Wars Guy)

Am I missing something, or do you really need the 'net to mix music?

I would think that you could use GarageBand (or more "pro" apps) sans Internet.
