According to this website:
http://www.geocities.com/astrologyzo...olarzodiac.htm
"The Real Solar Zodiac dates also move forward by about one full day every 70 years because of the Movement of the Ages." and so because this has not traditionally been done, as of 2002 the sun signs are distributed thusly:
Pisces: 12 march to 18 april (trad. 19 feb to 20 march)
Aries: 19 april to 13 may (trad. 21 march to 19 april)
Taurus: 14 may to 19 june (trad. 20 april to 20 may)
Gemini: 20 june to 20 july (trad. 21 may to 20 june)
Cancer: 21 july to 9 august (trad. 21 june to 22 july)
Leo: 10 august to 15 sept. (trad. 23 july to 22 august)
Virgo: 16 sept. to 30 october (trad. 23 august to 22 sept.)
Libra: 31 october to 22 nov. (trad. 23 sept. to 22 oct.)
Scorpius: 23 nov. to 29 nov. (trad. 23 oct. to 21 nov.)
Ophiuchus: 30 nov. to 17 dec. (trad. not applicable)
Sagittarius: 18 dec. to 18 january (trad. 22 nov. to 21 dec.)
Capricornus: 19 january to 15 feb. (trad. 22 dec. to 19 january)
Aquarius: 16 feb. to 11 march (trad. 20 january to 18 feb.)
So there you have it! Yea they add a thirteenth sign which kinda isn't necessary, these calculations could be done with the traditional signs, but I wrote it up like this anyway. Astrology is just entertainment after all. And I don't know how to calculate the 'correct' positions of signs after Scorpio anyway
A brief explainaination of why we still use the old dates and not these, by the author of that page:
I can not imagine what exactly the signs are meant to be if they are not constellations: all that is left for them to be is dates - a set of twelve dates used to mark the year. There is, however, an answer to this question also to be found on the web. It is that signs are just a "short hand to describe degrees of Ecliptic" e.g. Aries is 0 to 30 degrees of the Ecliptic.
Again, how can the amount of degrees along an imaginary line marking the Sun's path as seen from Earth have any significance, if not related to anything else out there? Like the stars for instance! Imagine an ancient Babylonian priest-astrologer going to see his king. "I have invented a great new system of divination, my King" he says. "Forget the stars completely. [You know, the things we've spent the last one and a half thousand years carefully observing.] All we have to concern ourselves with is the number of degrees away from the Vernal Equinox that the Sun is in the heavens. That controls everything!" The king would doubtless soon be looking for a new priest-astrologer. No priest-astrologer ever did any such thing of course. They were star-gazers, looking at the real sky.
So.
I moved from being a Gemini to a Taurus. Go figure. How about you guys? Any change?
PS: I pre-emptively marked this thread with a [pix] warning, because it wouldn't surprise me if pictures become a part of the thread later on. Better safe than sorry. Or something.
cheers

Of course this will be ignored and the traditional continued to be followed. So while entertaining it really won't matter.

No prob, but as I mentioned in the OP, the point of this thread makes the anagram: "TREATMENT NINE"
That's right. Fun.

Hot babes don't have birthdays. They've always existed, and always will.

Sorry, but you have to consider the spirit of the rules: to show that a thread is a picture thread. This one isn't.
A picture thread is one where the original post either includes large images, or where the entire point of the original post is to request that others post large images.
This meets neither requirement, and based on the OP, I don't see how it would even incite others to post images. This isn't exactly a topic that's image-heavy.

I've never been quite sure anyway as I've often seen different astrological calenders move the dates here and there. As my birth date is June 21, the summer solstice, I've often flipped back and forth between whether I'm a gemini or cancer. I think gemini sounds cooler anyway, so thats what I go with.
