Does the word, "Shortcut" have a good or bad connotation?

Without ANY more information to go on, NO qualifiers. How do you perceive the word "shortcut?"

And no cop outs. Pretend you HAVE to choose good or bad. Nothing else.

Is a "shortcut" a good thing? Or is a "shortcut" a bad thing?

I know it can be both, but generally, I'd say it's a bad thing.

It can be both.

Bad if you are going "blind" into a shortcut and it loses "quality"

or Good if you are using a shortcut to get somewhere faster

Shortcuts = a bad thing.

Unless we're talking about the film, which is OK.

Reminds me of Windows! Ick.

It's an ALIAS people. Just like it's a desktop background. Not a shortcut. Not a "wallpaper."

Sorry, rant over.

Oh wait, I forgot the part about how Windows people always call their "wallpaper" a "screensaver." As in, "My screensaver is a picture of my Beanie Baby collection."

Dang, I forgot about those things. That'll serve me right for being up so stupidly early in the afternoon.

I look on short cuts as a good thing. Positive, allows to save time.

I'd think your first reaction gave the genuine information.

Thinking back, it seems like short cuts have always been associated with a little doubt. Something to do with "the current way I know is sure, your shortcut is unknown, and may not be successful."

My first thought was of Winders too. Stupid Winders.

I think of a shortcut being a good thing, like a shortcut when driving somewhere. When it turns out the shortcut was actually the longer way, it quickly becomes a bad thing.

If it's a Shortcut To Moncton, it's pretty awesome.
