Due to the fact I work in a field that a lot of women work in as well, I have noticed it is really weird to be competing for a job with somebody you find attractive or maybe even "like".
It's like "yeah, I really think she's hot but I have to kick her ass to get this job I want...". I mean you still want to kick her butt...just in a different way.
Anybody else feel like this (at times)?

I am a chef so have no problem with that. Most chefs are men because women in general these days can't make anything more than a salad.

I've heard some of them are pretty good at tossing the salad as well. *g*

Just had a 2+ hour conversation with one of my women friends about this last night:
Women are getting paid less than men... it must be because of discrimination!
Well, if a man can do a job better, he deserves to be paid more. And vice-versa. But this discrimination had to come from somewhere, have some precedence.
Then we rambled on and got nowhere. In the end I was getting the impression she was pitying herself and other women because they get paid less. She needed to find an excuse for it.
Man that really comes across as sexist, but there are just some things a man excels at and some things a woman excels at.

What's sexist about it ?
If an advantage can be truly attributed to gender, it don't see how it is sexist.

Many women and gays these days are vicious towards us heterosexuals to the point of making us feel irrelevant so men stand up for yourselves. The new political correctness hates us the same way some crazies hate gays and blacks etc

Gender usually refers to the social order of things, not the biological. "Sex" would be the preferred term here.

Biologically, males tend to excel at some things, and women tend to excel at others. For example, it is commonly believed that the average man is better at visual-spatial thinking than the average woman, and the average woman is better at negotiation and language skills than the average man. How much of this is learned and how much is due to biology is unknown. But there must have been some precedence in our ancient human history that developed us like this ("evolution"), and hence the reason society is like this today. Plain and simply, a man is more likely to succeed in science while a woman is more likely to succeed in mass communication (teachers, negotiators, etc). Of course there are exceptions and I'm not saying a woman shouldn't be a scientist and a man shouldn't be a teacher. This doesn't make one superior to the other -- they are both equally important.
But what really gets me is the women (and men!) that like to think we're "equal" and so they view every difference as a an inferiority. We are equal but undeniably differenct. Since we're all homo sapiens, the commonalities strongly outweigh our differences, but I like to embrace these differences; it's really what makes life interesting for me.
Anyone catch my drift? I got 3 hours of sleep last night so I'm more or less rambling...

I agree, but what jobs are women making more money then men on (not counting things where such things as beauty might be a factor)?

There's a Hebrew term "ezer kenegdo" which has a lot of translations (helpmeet, counterpart) but my favorite is "Equal but opposite"
I prefer to argue that the most suitable candidate should get a job. It bothers me that a woman (or any minority) can get a job over me (WASP.... BTW, is that a negative term?) simply because they are a minority. They may not posses as great a skill, or be as well qualified, but there are laws to protect their interests.
OTOH, I can't deny that there are still corporations/groups/peoples that tend to lean on biases and aren't giving full consideration to a group that no doubt has as much potential as any other person. In most any field a woman is capable of accomplishing the same as a man.
I wish that people were entirely fair (as well as entirely forgiving... sorry, side thought) but they aren't so what are we to do? I don't have the answer.

Oh, it's still sexist. The difference is in the sex of the individual. The question really is: Is sexism always bad?

Being a Registered Nurse, I have worked with woman all of my career. Never any problems. Never a matter of taking a job away from another. It was career advancement because of my own proficiency,

Wrong. You have a wrong definition of sexism in mind.
sex·ism (sĕk'sĭz'əm) pronunciation, n.
1. Discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women.
2. Attitudes, conditions, or behaviors that promote stereotyping of social roles based on gender.
Merely pointing out differences (like men have dicks, women have tits) is NOT sexism, because it's not discrimination.
Except if you are Loretta, then all bets are off.

Your picture was designed by a man obviously.
And that man is a moron:
"Be quite during the game?"
Only a man would have to describe things with PICTURES because it's obvious that men cannot spell. That's also why Denny's (restaurant) is frequented mostly by men: They can point at the picture of the food on the menu and don't have to read.

90% of the employees at my company are big breasted hot women in their mid 20s. Why? Because my bosses are pigs, that's why.
Part of me finds it pretty disgusting and the other part of me finds it pretty darn nice. It's quite the moral quandary.

I'm a designer at a small ad agency. the owners just like to hire young girls right out of college because they are cheap. I'm not kidding though. While they have improved a little bit in this area, there was a time when I was working with ten to fifteen 25ish-year olds chicks all of who would be considered an 8 or above. This is in a company of 35 people. Not including the owners, we currently have 5 male employees.
My bosses are just very predictable. Of course, I'm very happily married so it doesn't really matter. Still, it does make the workday a little more tolerable.

I know that, silly. We weren't pointing out that women don't have penises, though. I was saying that someone making hiring decisions, etc, based on gender because there are differences associated with gender IS sexism. Even if "an advantage can be truly attributed to gender." You are still "discriminating" based on traits associated with a gender.
My point was that this is not necessarily a bad thing.
And don't oppress me because I want to have babies!
