Casey Kasem, Dick Clark, Rick Dees - all replaced by Seacrest!
I don't USUALLY waste time disliking anyone, but Seacrest is really special!

how has he replaced all those old fogies? Seacrest is just another one in the line. Maybe he'll be around as long as those guys, maybe not. He's definitely no legend.

MARCH 13 IS E!-DAY FOR RYAN SEACREST
SEACREST TAKES THE REINS AS E! LEAD ANCHOR AND MANAGING EDITOR
3/7/06
Ryan Seacrest officially kicks off his role as lead anchor and managing editor of E! News on Monday, March 13 at 7:00 PM ET/PT. Seacrest has set up shop at the network's Wilshire Blvd. headquarters, and begins his new E! News job one week after wrapping the network's Oscar Red Carpet coverage. In his new role, Seacrest will anchor the most comprehensive celebrity news coverage on television brought to you by the only network dedicated exclusively to entertainment – 24/7.
Working alongside E! News co-anchor Giuliana DePandi, Seacrest will lead the E! News team in doing what they do best – bring entertainment fans the latest news out of Hollywood. From interviews with your favorite stars to up-to-the-minute scoops on the newest trends, award shows moments, celebrity unions and break ups – it's all on E! News, the leading entertainment authority.
Seacrest's E! News duties are one of the prominent features of his comprehensive agreement with E! signed in January 2006. That agreement calls for the international broadcast megastar to develop and produce multiple series projects, serve as Executive Producer of E!'s Live From the Red Carpet , and host a series of interview specials for the network via his Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) banner. And the deal has already proven itself successful as Seacrest made a huge splash at E! as Master of Ceremonies and executive producer on E!'s Live From the Red Carpet: Golden Globe Awards telecast in January. He then produced and worked the red carpet on the LRC: Screen Actors Guild Awards special, which earned a 1.37 national rating from Nielsen, representing a 99% jump in household viewing from the 2005 broadcast, becoming E!'s highest-rated Red Carpet: SAG Awards program ever.
In staking out his claim as one of Hollywood 's hardest working stars, Seacrest will continue as host of the iconic talent showcase that put him on the international map, Fox's top-rated "American Idol," and will serve as a fill-in host for CNN's top-rated "Larry King Live" nightly talk show. For his radio career, a new state-of-the-art studio is currently under construction at E! Networks to house the world's most popular radio countdown show, "American Top 40" and Seacrest's chart-topping L.A. morning drive-time radio show for Clear Channel, 102.7 KIIS-FM.
Don't miss Ryan Seacrest with Guiliana DePandi on E! News beginning March 13 at 7:00PM ET/PT

Ryan Seacrest
With his successful broadcasting career, it's no wonder why he was recently awarded a prestigious star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and why he was voted as one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful,” as well as one of their 2005 “Most Eligible Bachelors.” With Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) becoming a known entity producing and hosting multiple television and radio specials, his many restaurant investments, as well as the launch of the R Line , Seacrest is redefining what it means to be an entrepreneur and a quadruple threat in Hollywood.
The latest development in Seacrest's booming career came in January 2006 when he signed a comprehensive agreement with E! Networks calling for extensive on-air presence as well as development and production under his RSP banner. For “E! News,” he will serve as Managing Editor and Lead Anchor, with Giuliana DePandi, beginning in March 2006. In addition, Seacrest will serve as Executive Producer and Host of the network's popular “Live From the Red Carpet” specials. Under his RSP banner, which will be housed at E!'s Wilshire Blvd. headquarters, Seacrest will develop and produce multiple series projects for the network.
Seacrest now holds preeminent positions in the worlds of broadcast television, nationally syndicated radio, local radio and cable. He is already celebrated internationally as host of the top-rated primetime talent showcase "American Idol" and the world's most popular radio countdown show, "American Top 40," as well as his market-topping L.A. morning drivetime radio show for Clear Channel's 102.7 KIIS-FM. Beginning in 2006, Seacrest will broadcast the KIIS program from his new state-of-the-art studio at E! Networks headquarters in Los Angeles .
At the end of 2005, Seacrest signed onto a long term deal to executive produce and join Dick Clark co-hosting the 34th edition of “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve,” live from Times Square in New York on December 31st airing on the ABC Television Network. Seacrest will move over to ABC in a multi-year deal to occupy the co-host post and eventually take over as sole host when Clark decides to step down. The show traditionally out-rates all of the other network competitive programming combined and for many years has been the highest rated entertainment program for the entire week surrounding New Year's.
Seacrest has just begun his fifth season as host of FOX's #1 hit show, "American Idol." Last year he helped FOX enjoy its highest ratings ever. Seacrest has single-handedly changed the face of "American Idol" making him a household name. With "American Idol," his radio shows On Air with Ryan Seacrest and American Top 40, as well as his many specials and award shows throughout the year, he is able to reach millions of American eyes and ears.
Seacrest took over for Casey Kasem counting down American Top 40 every week on the nations top radio stations. American Top 40 is an institution in the radio world, and with Seacrest taking the reigns; it is broadcast on more stations in larger markets than ever before. Since Seacrest's debut, American Top 40 has more than doubled its listeners to millions per show. Radio stations nationwide are able to access the show via satellite or the Internet, insuring the most up to the minute music chart information.
Seacrest also took over the most coveted radio position in Los Angeles on its Top 40 radio powerhouse 102.7 KIIS-FM morning show. Since the new Seacrest morning show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest premiered on February 26th, 2004 and the show has become the #1 most listened to morning show in Los Angeles. The fan favorite broadcasts daily from 5:00-10:00 AM.
Seacrest's other hosting credits also include "The Billboard Awards," "Radio Music Awards," "EXTRA Weekends," E!'s "Talk Soup," NBC Saturday Night Movie series, "The New Edge" for the Sci-Fi channel, ESPN, and "An Evening at the Academy Awards." This year, Seacrest serves as a correspondent for "The Tonight Show." In addition to his hosting credits, he recently renewed his deal with Cingular Wireless to brand the world of text messaging. Seacrest played a huge role in bringing this medium to people's attention during the second season of "American Idol."
Seacrest's entrepreneur endeavors under the Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) umbrella include part ownership in many LA and Las Vegas hot spots. Currently Seacrest is a part owner at Katana, Sushi Roku and Boa. The R Line is a clothing venture with JEM sportswear which launched last summer. He received a lot of feedback and attention for wearing shirts by his own design on “American Idol.” The response was so immense, that it was a natural progression for him to expand and develop a clothing line so that the masses could experience his cool, relaxed, and stylish fashion sense. R Line t-shirts are being sold in high-end boutiques throughout the nation.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan's professional career in broadcasting began at the age of 16 when he applied for an internship at one of Atlanta 's top radio stations, WSTR/STAR 94.
While working at STAR 94 in Atlanta, Seacrest finished high school and went on to attend the University of Georgia where he majored in Journalism. During his freshman year in college, Seacrest was offered his first television show as the host of ESPN's "Radical Outdoor Challenge," in which athletes competed against one another for cash prizes.
Seacrest currently resides in Los Angeles.

Ryan Seacrest Goes Too Far
If your Golden Globes viewing experience seemed a bit empty you have one man and one man only to blame: Ryan Seacrest. Sure you still had the incoherent, drunken Joan to watch, but you know, deep down, you longed for the original Claymate herself, Kathy Griffin. So who really got our dear Kathy off the red carpet?
Hot Stuff has learned that Ryan Seacrest, 31, got comic Kathy Griffin, 44, axed from her hosting gig on E! Says a source, "Kathy has been awful to him" in her stand-up act, so when Seacrest finalized a new deal with the network (worth $21 million over three years), he made sure Griffin got the boot. Her red-carpet replacement? Seacrest, natch!
Even though we know you’re secretly one of us (a Kathy Griffin fan! What did you think we meant?), you’re now on our **** list, Mr. Highlights. But don’t worry about us, we’re peaceful people. Griffin, on the other hand, will probably beat the crap out of you next time she runs into you at the tanning salon.
In all seriousness, this will only supply her with an entire episode’s worth of material for the next season of My Life on the D-list. We can’t wait.
