What are any of you going to do in honor of this fine Friday? Kiss a Blarney Stone? Drink green beer?

One isn't proper Irish if you don't drink twenty pints of Guinness, proceed to fight anything which moves and then pass out blind drunk after attempting the hard bits from Riverdance.

(edit: altered slightly as it looked like a response to Cody's previous post, which it wasn't. 'Twas a generic statement. But there ya go)

Only Nigerians drink Guiness these days. Drink Caffrey's instead.

Hi Cody,

No special plans at all. Here in Boston it is also Evacuation Day , 1776 British forces evacuated Boston during the Revolutionary War.

*Hugs Cody for the holiday.*

While Guinness is nice I am a Beamish man, right from County Cork.
Although I hear it's not going to be imported into the States any more.

But, I'll be there (Ireland) in late June and have my fill of it then.

<edited to add: *I* am not right from County Cork, just the beer.>

One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

I know it's Scottish, but it's funny:

Are you REALLY going to eat corned beef and cabbage?

What the heck IS corned beef anyway? I've always wondered that. I've seen it and I don't see any corn served with it.

Oh, and that "Aye-Pod" is REALLY cool...I wish they DID sell one like that!

That was great, olePigeon/Clive!

Corned Beef is pickeled, then boiled/fried beef. Corn originally meant a type of grain. The course salt used to make the corned beef made it, well, corny.

I love St. Patrick's Day!

Working 10 am-6 pm today and we are doing Macs! I'm in training for tech support... it's the only day for Macs.

Then tomorrow volunteering at a rink 8 am-6:30 pm so I can't get wild today.

Bought a shamrock plant last weekend.

Hope to visit Boston sometime, always wanted to go there... and I love Dropkick Murphys.

I'll be at Patterson's Pub drink mass quantities of Irish Whiskey and Irish Car Bombs.

Irish Viagra!

An Irish woman of advanced age visited her physician to ask his help reviving her husband's libido.

"What about trying Viagra?" asked the doctor.

"Not a chance," she said. "He won't even take an aspirin."

"Not a problem," replied the doctor. "Give him an Irish Viagra. Drop it into his coffee. He won't even taste it. Give it a try and call me in a week to let me know how things went."

A week later she called the doctor, who directly inquired as to progress.

The poor dear exclaimed, "Oh, faith, bejaysus and begorrah! T'was horrid. Just terrible, doctor!"

"Really? What happened?" asked the doctor?

"Well, I did as you advised and slipped it in his coffee and the effect was almost immediate. He jumped himself straight up with a twinkle in his eye and with his pants a-bulging fiercely! With one swoop of his arm, he sent the cups and tablecloth flying, ripped me clothes to tatters, and took me right then and there, making wild, mad, passionate love to me on the tabletop! It was a nightmare, I tell you, an absolute nightmare!"

"Why so terrible?" asked the doctor, "Do you mean the sex your husband provided wasn't good?"

"Oh, no, no, doctor, the sex was fine indeed! 'Twas the best sex I've had in 25 years. But sure as I'm sittin' here, I'll never be able to show me face in Starbucks again!"
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.
