It's unlike anything you've ever experienced. It's a whole new world to exlore. Those who think they've seen it all. I suggesty you try absinthe. I ordered mine from www.alandia.de with a few other peopl to share shipping. It's nuts. It's drunk. But not.

No absinthe available for purchase in the US will have anything near enough in psychedelic ingredients to have any effect on you, apart from the alcohol.

Rob this reminds me of high school when people were bragging about having ephedrine and acting like it was real speed. THE REAL THING! NOT THAT CAFFIENE STUFF!
Go take some shrooms or LSD and THEN get back to us how cool that absinthe is.

What he said. Even most available outside North America won't have enough for a significant effect. It's all in your mind.
Just make sure you're not smoking oregano, too.

Absinthe is proven to **** you up mentally.
Ask the 19th century French poets
Anyway, if you want something *really* psychedelic, try LSD.

So what? The recipe hasn't disappeared, AFAIK. I can make some for you, if you supply me with wormwood.
site cash ordered fromStrong68 is inspired by an old French recipe dating back to the 19th century. Strong68 uses maximum wormwood for the strongest thujon concentration.
28.90 EUR
So there's Thujone, the psychoactive in traditional absinthe.

I wouldn't say ANY alcohol was "wimpy stuff" anything you can kill you from over-consumption isn't wimpy to me.
There are too many kids that don't know their limit, and think drinking LOTS makes them cool.
This makes any alcohol dangerous.
If I had kids of my own, I would tell them if they ever got curious, to ask me, I'll go buy it for em, and they can sit and drink till they get sick.
But atleast I will be there to make sure nothing goes over-board.
Same with weed. I'll even go buy it for em.
They are gonna do it anyhow.
Doing this takes the "cool image" and doing things behind your parents back excitement away.
When I was growing up, I noticed that kids that had parents like this, was less likely to get into trouble because of such issues.
But then again, I could be wrong.

I'm working today.
And later on I'll try to pry a very rare almost extinct parrot from some loser's bird collection that he keeps in a parakeet cage. How he got it is anyone's guess. Money talks - I bet he'll turn it over with a wad of 100s in his face.
What is anyone else doing?

Yes, it is a minor hallucinogen but most of the stuff you buy just tastes bad and doesn't do much.

It's a minor hallucinogen if you get the same stuff they were drinking in the 19th century.
Anyone that claims that this "new" imported stuff is an hallucinogen needs to actually TRY some hallucinogens then get back with us.

The only thing this "new" absinthe has going for it is the curiosity and illegality that it brings with it. The fact that it's illegal/been illegal in countries brings you back to that age when you only wanted to do stuff because you weren't allowed to, and the idea that it was/is a hallucinogen brings curiosity.
Exactly like Kevin said with, "Doing this takes the "cool image" and doing things behind your parents back excitement away."
That's all absinthe is now.
Yes I have tried it, no I didn't hallucinate, yes I drank a lot of it, and all that happened was that I had the taste of fennel in my mouth for the rest of the night.
Like everyone has said, If you want to hallucinate, skip this disgusting tasting drink and get small piece of paper for your tongue.

i dont even know if the stuff then was capable of a hallucinogenic effect. according to research Ted Breaux did on pre-ban absinthe (this is all in the wired article mentioned in this thread, or the other one), the level of thujone was in the parts per million in a bottle of pre-ban absinthe. IE, the hallucinogenic effects were probably always overhyped or placebo in nature (why rob likes it).
the absinthe that breaux produces is supposedly chemically identical to the pre-ban stuff. from personal experience and those of my friend whos tried it, ive heard of noone "tripping" from it.

It's 68% alcohol, which is going to do more than thujone: "Although it was originally believed to be similar to THC that has since been disproven. Most likely thujone antagonizes inhibition in the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor system."
This is about as stupid as the claims my old girlfriend used to make about Jagermeister having poppy extracts that make you trip like opium.

modern absynth doesnt deserve its reputation because the ingredients are different than 100 years ago. it's modern myth.
like that worm in tequilla is supposed to make you all crazy too. It doesn't.
just try LSD, Shrooms, 2cb, salvia, DMT. then we'll discuss psychedelics.

Well-established toxiticity; dubious psychedelia (acc. to Wikipedia):
"...At the height of its popularity, absinthe was portrayed as a dangerously addictive, psychoactive drug and similarly banned in other European countries and in the United States. In fact, high alcohol content and a suggestive reputation are now considered to be its most active ingredients."

Additionally, I believe the distillation process nullified any thujone-related psychedelic properties in properly-prepared stuff. The whole absinthe attraction is propagandized buzz.

It's psychedelic, not psycadelic, tard.
Edit: Once, an aquaintance of mine made the banana drug (he really followed the procedure found on the net, hoping to get high!)... it consisted in baking banana peels and smoking them...He actually did it... and HIS FATHER HELPED HIM... and he told me they got him mildly buzzed.
