I just saw Wicked yesterday, and I found it pretty enjoyable. It definitely wasn't amazing, but it was fun. There was one line that I didn't get, but everyone else in the theater died laughing at:

There's a goat on the lam, sir!
What does that mean? Any takers? Here's the script:

Meanwhile, "a goat on the lamb" would mean sexual intercourse.
"You rise," he said, "like Aurora."

Yes, those are the literal meanings, but not why the audience laughed.

Strad is correct. In the show, a goat was on the run. The line was, "There's a goat on the lam." Everyone interprets that comically, thinking that a goat is literally on top of the lamb. Lame joke, but always gets a chuckle. Just like the people who think "Jesus fking Christ!" is highhhlarious.

I'm happy to hear that you had a chance to laugh in the theater.

I wanted to see that show. If the opportunity arises I might go. I enjoy the soundtrack. The Book, as it turns out, it by far not the same story at all. Period. There are a few similarities, but that's where it stops, I was rather disappointed.

The book was kind of weak.
