I currently work in a call center, in sales for a wireless carrier. It's getting old been there almost 4 years. I have a college degree but am having trouble finding a job. I look online a few times a week at the usual, monster, careerbuilder etc. the newspaper has the same garbage, i am begining to think the only way to a good job is to know someone. Any suggestions? I don't need to make a ton of money 40k+ though.

What's your degree in? Some more details on what you want to do might be good.

But seriously, go back to your teachers. Very likely they will have leads.

Just looking on job sites is rarely enough; you need to take a little more action.
Join some professional organizations that are related to the field that you want to get into. Go to local chapter meetings and network a bit. If your chapter has a board of directors, see what it takes to get elected to the board, or otherwise get involved with some chapter events to give yourself a little more exposure. Develop your network and start getting on people's radar.
Get some business cards with your contact info (obviously) and list your skill sets that relate to the type of jobs you're looking for (i.e. Specializing in Project Management, Capital Budgeting, Political Risk Analysis, etc.).
Check your alumni association, see if you have any old classmates that are working in the field that you're interested in. Also, check any career development resources at your university.
Go back to school, if you feel that you need to. Grad school is only 2 years, and trust me they go by fast. Don't put off going back to school if the only thing stopping you is the time commitment.
Do what you can while at your current position to pad your resume. If not already, get into some leadership positions - train new hires, coach other employees. Even if you don't want to stay at your current job, use it as a springboard to the next.
With jobs that you apply for, call the company as well. Try to talk to the hiring manager or the person you would be working for. Use it as a chance to introduce yourself and learn more about the position. This will give you a chance to move your resume to the top and not have it filtered out by a computer.
I would imagine that the job market that you're in, like most places, is pretty tight. You need to be competitive about finding a job. Figure out what your goals are first, then develop your plan to get there. Spend an hour or two each day doing something that helps you get closer to your goal.

Here's an answer to all your problems.
Tell your supervisor you are interested in moving into management.
Ask them to advise you on how best to do that within the company you've known and loved for 4 years.
This will do a few things for you.
The people who know and like you will take a new kind of interest in you. They will admire your willingness to take on new responsibilities. THEY will come to YOU with opportunities or training or minor assignments to test you and help you out. You will no longer be bored with the job. Everything will take on a WHOLE new look and feel. You will be energized every day.
You will start reading things about the industry, the business, the competition, about managing people and etc. Take the time and the opportunity to really get good or really well studied at some aspect of management that you enjoy. You may not know everything at first, but when the subject comes to XYZ NO ONE ELSE IN THE COMPANY will know more about it than you.
This way even your current bosses will have to recognize that you know your stuff on that topic. Mentally, they'll assume you might be really good at a bunch of other things, too.
Basically, you can get a new job without having to send out resumes, relocate, look or interview for a new job.
Good Luck!

Well, without telling anyone what you have experience in or a college degree in or where you are at it's kind of hard to give you any advice or help.
