A friend and I, him PC and me Mac, were discussing this the other day, what are Pro's and con's of Apple licensing OS X to all the major PC companies. I think it would be a great thing for Apple but would Apple become another Microsoft in a sense? Would there be more viruses, adware,? Or just a great alternative for the consumer? and also you think M$ would try and stop it if Apple wanted to do this?
Just thought I would throw this question out to my fellow smart Macnnr's.

Yeah, it's kind of an old topic. Long story short: Apple makes its money off hardware (primarily Mac) sales. Thus, this will not happen without a big shift in the market.
