Hi new yorkers!,

I am new in town and I wonder which broadband provider I shall take. I do not really want to subscribe to a landline so cable is maybe the best way and I want to keep my "freedom" a bit. That is to say that for example 1) don't need that the ISP blocks ports for security reasons - I do not need a ISP firewall.
or 2) I do not want the ISP "think" for me and re-route my browsing like Club internet in France is doing (after on is entering a none existing url they re-route you to a sponsor web site that comes to close to what one has entered (so they think))

or simply tell me what is your experience ?

thanx in advance
