Rank these words in terms of offensiveness...

Bitch

Skank

Ho

Which word offends you the most, second most and least?

Would you mind being called any of them? Only two of them? All three?

lol @ this
Oh well, here goes.

Skank - kind of means the same thing as ho, but ho is overused and skank also brings forth images of being dirty as well as loose

Ho - the favorite used by everyone, all the time. Not as meaningful as it once was.

Bitch - definitely low end. women call each other bitch for almost anything now.

I'm a man and these are all female terms, so no, it wouldnt bother me to be called any of them It would in fact be rather funny.

Thanks for your reply you skank, ho, bitch.

Nah, I don't mean it. It's just that you asked and I couldn't resist. Sorry. Thanks. J/K about you being any of those.

Interesting thread, abe.

ho - I may be a traditionalist, but I would rank ho as likely the most offensive term of the three because it's simply a slang derivative of whore.

skank - a woman can be skanky without being a ho, IMO, although the term is often used as a superlative modifier for the word ho. Usage 1: "She's pretty skanky, though;" Usage 2: "You're nothing but a skanky ho."

bitch - almost anyone can be a bitch

The first denotes attitude, while the other two denote a combination of low or negative attitude with poor lifestyle choices. I feel that the term "bitch" is acceptable in informal conversation without seriously stepping over the line into invective. The other two on the other hand are NOT acceptable in any normal conversation except to denote seriously negative behavior. Further, "skank" denotes the worst level (to me) because it seems to indicate someone who is even less careful about her partners than a whore.

skank

Though, worse than all of them is c*nt. Probably the most offensive word in the English language.

You think the c word is that bad, Stein? Racial and ethnic slurs are much worse, IMO.

I would not want to be called any of them. They are all equally offensive in mind.

Well, racial slurs are the most offensive to the race that they're relating to, whereas c*nt is equally offensive to all of them. It's simply a word that, even when used in jest, will likely get you slapped.

I've tried it with my female friends (in jest), and the "c bomb" never went over well. hehe
