i'm considering the purchase of a bowflex. anyone have any experience owning/using them? the local gym is starting to get inconvenient for me and the fact that i wouldn't have to drive somewhere to work out would be good too. the extreme xtlu model is probably what i'd want to get. thanks.

Try to buy one that's used. The retail markup on those things is horrendous to pay for their expensive marketing campaigns. Bose is the same.

it's a good idea, however buying used would mean that i would be ineligible for the warranty as it's non-transferrable from the original buyer.

A neighbor just got a nearly unused bowflex machine for $50 that she found in an ad on a local internet classifieds section. EXCELLENT deal if I must say.

Yeah, there are so many of them in people's garages that have been used two or three times only to be covered in dust now. You could buy five used ones for the price of one with a warranty.
