Girlfreinds niece want's to improve her english

My girlfreind has been trying to find a place to send her niece (16 year old Italian) in England to improve her English during the summer. Idealy she would stay with a British famly and perhaps do something during the day and or take some lessons at a language school or similar.

She had something organised but now this has fallen through and I was wondering if anyone here has any ideas. She can pay but doesn't want to spend a small fortune if possible.
