So I've been pretty idle this week, being that I'm on spring break. One of the guys on the outskirts of my group seems to want to do something every Friday night, but never really has any ideas. So the guy wants to go see a movie tonight and I was game because I was pretty bored. The only good movie we could see was Ice Age 2 - all the rest looked pretty bad, and I could use a chuckle.

I knew going to see Ice Age 2 would involve lots of little kids around, which was fine. Without taking my own ten year old or a female, it did feel like a guy card violation though. I did call some females, but they were busy tonight.

So what's your opinion - guy card violation or not?

It at least deserves a verbal warning followed by more severe penalties if a similar violation is committed within 90 days.

Depends on whether or not anyone you know sees you. If not, it's a guilty pleasure. If so, you have 30 days to file an appeal.

Not a violation because you should be able to do whatever the **** you want without every other asshole criticizing you. Who cares if someone questions your sexuality after seeing the movie alone, it's for your enjoyment, so **** em.

(ppsssst. hey, buddy. there is no such thing as a "guy card." It's just some humorous concept we use to tease each other. Unless you're humor impaired, then it isn't humorous. In which case, ignore the whole discussion.)

Did they manage to sell you the penis enlargement pills too?

...
"You don't need a cat license."
"I bloody well do, and I've got one!"
"Look, this isn't a cat license. It's a dog license with the word 'dog' crossed out and 'cat' written in with crayon."

....

"I've got to have a license for my pet bat Eric. Eric, the fruit bat."

I saw it last night. It was pretty funny, but the story was weaker than the first. There was a lot of interruptions to the story to show something funny happening.

Any man who thinks Ray Romano is funny in in violation.

And of course you must leave at least one open seat between yourselves.

Just be glad you didn't go see Curious George. It was insanely terrible.

While I disagree with your review of Curious George (my wife and I enjoyed it), seeing that with another guy would be kinda creepy...I don't care how many seats you leave between you

That is true. However, I didn't lose any points in my Guy Card when I watched the PPG movie. The only unpleasant moment was the Spongebob preview.

Oh man, please tell me you didn't see the SpongeBob movie without a female/child present. That's not just any violation of your Guy Card... you're liable to have it permanently revoked, no matter what the circumstances.

No. I didn't see the Spongebob movie. I only catched its preview before the PPG movie.

Why is bringing a girl to the Spongebob movie considered a redeeming circumstance?

This reminds me of that Dr Pepper commercial with the song "I would do anything for love".

1) Guys know that guys will do ANYTHING to get lucky.

2) Guys understand that marriage is the X-factor. It can change all the rules, unpredictably.

3) Guys know compliance is the best course of action when under duress, such as in that obvious hostage situation.

4) Last resort. Guy wants to see film and KNOWS he's breaking the rule. But he, AT LEAST, has the decency to feel embarrassed about it and try to make it look like he's in situation #1 - 3.

Seeing a kiddie flick with another guy? IN ADDITION to sitting with an empty seat between you a few slightly rowdy adolescent type actions are also called for. Making loud lascivious remarks about a female cartoon character will suffice.
