Talk about the upcoming film. Is the teaser which reavealed the news about the film online yet?
What will it be about?
Could it become the highest earning film ever, blowing out even Titanic? I think yes! People will go just out of curiousity, and the hype it will bring. I think it will be huge. Also, does this mean the end for the series, that was hinted before. Anyway..talk about it you guys I know there are Simpsons fans around here, so talk about it you guys lol

They already have been renewed for two more seasons actually. Yeah '89 till now is a LONG time for a show. But it is still funny as hell though.

I'd rather have a "Family Guy" movie....and it should be at least 8 hours long.

I agree.
The Simpsons has been going downhill for 10 years. The first 7-8 seasons were fantastic, and it held up well for another 4-5 after that, but recently it's just lost that great quality it used to have; the jokes aren't as subtle, the ideas aren't as original or interesting. Not that I really blame them; 17 years is a hell of a long time to keep coming up with original ideas, especially with changing writers and staff and such. But it's definitely not as enjoyable as it used to be.
I'm hoping, for the movie, they'll dig up some old writers or at least work a little harder to bring back that classic Simpsons feel for their final hurrah (they may continue the show for another few years, but, as far as I'm concerned, it's not the same show as it was back in the good ol' days of seasons 4-9)

Exactly. There already is a Family Guy movie.
Simpsons is way past its prime, and F.G. is getting there. Futurama died too young; hopefully its resurrection won't be as messy as the muddle that is currently F.G. (don't get me wrong, some of it's funny, but it's missing its original spark).

I just hope that they bring back Conan for the Simpsons movie. I think he had a lot to do with the humor of the first seasons.

Honestly, I was disappointed in the Family Guy/Stewie Griffin movie. Seemed like three regular FG episodes sewn together. Part of the fun of Family Guy is how it pushes the edge of what's allowable on TV. When given the chance to do whatever they wanted, they didn't do anything that different.
Hope the Simpson's movie isn't just a 90-minute TV-ish episode.

I think no matter what they come up with people will be hugely disappointed.

Bingo, everyone should rent (or buy) Season 4. Conan wrote the lion's share of the episodes, and almost all are classics.
After Season 10 The Simpsons lost their way. While I still watch the new episodes (If I'm around, I don't make it a point to watch them) they are merely the shell of a once-great show.
The movie will be blah, just like the Family Guy movie (it was ok, but c'mon, they can barely hold a cohesive idea for a half-hour spot).
Meanwhile I am more looking forward to Season 8 being released on DVD (though once they hit Season 10 I will stop buying)

I thought the simpsons episode the other week was the first great one in a long time. Where marge babysits for Nim-Rod and Nim-Tod.

Hmmm. That might explain why it's not funny to anyone in a country that does not have the moral clampdown on "what's allowable on TV".
Anywho, I'm seeing the Simpsons movie on Wednesday and I can't wait

I thought Simpsons were in a lull for a while but I've thought the last year has been pretty good.
I agree with Dark Helmet though, it's hard not to be disappointed.
It's going to be terrible and you'll hate it. Convince yourself of that and it's all uphill from there.

*shrug* I haven't seen it. Should have been made 10 years ago IMHO.
If I sit down to a movie, and it doesn't make me fall asleep, and I am entertained, it's a winner to me.
I have a feeling that the movie will at least be entertaining. Def not a Theatre release watch. It will be on DVD soon.
[sarcasm] And then Matt can really cash in on Simpson's merchandising...... [/sarcasm]

I'm optimistic since they got the old writers for this.
Seeing the preview in the theater did leave you with the feeling you had just watched the entire movie, though.

Its going to suck, and all the commercials replay the same damn 5 clips over and over.
It's sad that my favorite show of all time has come this far into the land of suck, they should have stopped at least 7 years ago with the movie because at least then they could pack the one or two funny jokes from each Season 12-17 into a movie and actually have it be funny.
I will rent it, but I doubt I'll enjoy it.

I remember 3 years ago when they said they were looking forward to doing a movie in two years, when the series was over.
Obviously, they still get enough ratings that FOX won't kill it.

Fox would be Spanish Public Access if it wasn't for the Simpsons.
Just think Dak, we could be getting ready for the Futurama movie by now

No problem, jerk.
I know of the DVDs, but I was just thinking in terms of Futurama taking over for Simpsons and being in it's place right now.

Not gonna happen. I hope COmedy Central gets very unexpected ratings just to rub it in FOXs face.
But I think we both know that even if Futurama went back to FOX, Family Guy would kick the sh¡t out of it. Though I'd cry if American Dad did too.

If I can get passes, then I'll see the movie.
I hate having to pay for tv shows that become movies, especially cartoons.
Unless, of course, that feature length cartoon is The Venture Brothers.

Those are amazingly low standards.
If you're representative, that does help explain much of Hollywood, though.

Meh, nothing I do or don't do has any effect on Hollywood.
There is nothing wrong with going to the movies simply to be entertained. Low standards implies there is something wrong with my standards.
I don't put movies on a high pedestal is if they were life changing events.
They are for the most part, entertainment.

Since the publicity it will receive allows you to make a fortune off taping ad logos along the boner.
