Recently, I've gotten quite ticked at the US gaming mags. I've had a subscription to the official PS mag since issue 9 (and I have all the CDs), Xbox since issue 1, PSM since issue 1, and CGM. I have a subscription to GameInformer, but that came with my Gamestop membership. I tried Nintendo Power but it's written for 4 year olds.
Lately, only CGM has been the good one. I find the US mags to be terribly boring and dull. I eventually let my subscriptions except for CGM and OXM run out. I was in Barnes and Noble at lunchtime and found a slew of gaming mags, all rock, all from Britain! Edge, 360, and several others. I also found a mag called Play from the US which seems good. So why are all the good gaming mags from the UK now?

Geez, I haven't touch them since Nintendo Power. I find the internet more helpful.

EDGE is the only magazine I actually subscribe to. They had a sister publication in the US called Next Generation, but it's been gone for years iirc.

Has to be an universal thing, here in my country (Spain) mags suck big time, they are worse that being written for 4 years old, they are written for fanboys, it seems their only purpose is to create and feed fanboys, so I buy the new 'Nintendo - The Official Magazine', it is british and is a great magazine. Look for it if you want Nintendo info on paper.
The first number of the mag came with some stickers to use with the DS, needless to say my choice was this one:

Play and Edge are pretty good. Remind me of the US Next Gereration years ago - lots of really in depth articles on the industry.
It's not just gaming magazines, tho. Music mags are the same. Which is why I only buy music mags from the UK.

Edge is the only gaming mag I read.
Anything with 'Official' in the title is bound to be partisan, and therefore useless.

I used to read Next Gen even when I didn't have a console, it was a good read.
