Can we expect 3,000 to 3,500 new jobs at Apple? That'd be sweet. 5 years.... yeah, I should have my AA by then.

He just dropped in to tell them..
OK, good Steve hasn't such a busy schedule eh? There must have been a reason for this, Steve Jobs showing up personally to tell the city council that Apple is going to build another campus in Cupertino. Hmmm...
Still, this is Steve. He has strange priorities at times.
Off topic: It looked like about 3 citizens of Cupertino bothered to show up. Pretty good attendancy eh?

Amazing, in 2002 the main campus was like a graveyard, there were so many empty offices. The parcel they bought is in a pretty neglected part of Cupertino, so it's nice to see that area finally get some real development.

Is it just me, or is Ros Ho's twin sister leading this meeting? Seems to have the same public speaking ability.

That's 2 more than my hometown's city council meetings. And you should see the turnout at the zoning board meetings! Last time I went they thanked me for making it seem like they were talking to themselves.

I believe they cleared the agenda for this meeting for Steve, because they thought he may have had one of his grand, theatrical presentations (what would you expect if Steve Jobs of all people wanted to make an announcement to the city council in person? I guess he could have just as easily sent an Apple rep).
edit: here's a better clip.

And after one of the council members mentioned how some of them use "Apple products" (think iPod, most likely), and with Apple being their "biggest taxpayer," they can't even offer a quicktime stream on their website.
