Anyone using your gmail account as a free way to backup your files?

I love gmail and I just decided this would be a great idea.

I got a new gmail address just to backup my files, something like (mybackup@gmail.com).

I was thinking of just e-mailing myself my files and having them as attachments.

Then I found that people made programs. I downloaded gDisk1 and it works pretty well.

For people that do this, which method or program do you use?

Thank you.

Should I just suck it up and pay the 99 dollars and use iDisk?

Too bad you can't link to the files on it, which makes it kinda useless for me. I've used it once or twice. Meh.

Then you might find this Firefox plugin to be helpful. It allows you to manage and check multiple Gmail accounts:
