See, I'm old. It was the Testarossa first, then the VW Corrado, then the Ferrari 512tr, then the 550 Maranello Pinfarina. Cars have kinda gone downhill since then.

I also have a soft spot for the Lotus Esprit, Aston Martin DB7, BMW Z3 (& consequently 8) and the Honda S2000.

The 512tr is still the tops for me.

Well, according to my "life plan" I'll be a penniless student with ever-increasing debt until I get out of law school when I'm 29 – and then, as an environmental lawyer, I'm sure I'll make little enough money to barely pay off my loans before I die. Thus, extravagence is totally out the window for me. The Aston Martin? Pffffft, excuse me while I kiss the sky.

I'm thinking the Infiniti M45. That would be a dream, for me.

that m6 is sweet, even though its apparently pretty complicated to actually set the idrive system to get all 500HP.

BMW M3. Still the E46 model, so it doesn’t look like the other Bungled junk BMW is making right now. Once the new M3 comes out, I’ll probably have to find a different favorite car.

This thing is perfect though – all the stop-go-turn power of a dedicated sports car with just enough luxury to not be too spartan and the practicality of four seats and the awesome bulldog looks.

I wouldn't mind having a Mercedes E55 AMG. Or maybe a Mustang Super Snake from Unique Performance, that company in Texas.

1969 Datsun Fairlady 2000 Roadster. Bright yellow outside, black insides, all stock right down to the AM radio.

1970 Datsun 510 4dr Wagon, same specs as the Fairlady.

1979 Datsun 620 King Cab truck, also to match the other 2.

Yes im a Datsun person. Thats my idea set up of cars, sports car for the weekends, truck for work/hauling stuff, and the wagon as a family car.

And Dakar is spelled DeLorean.

A BMW Z3 Roadster

I hate the styling of the Z4; they gooped it up and lost the feel you got from those fenders and the way the car has a waist. The Z3 is HOT and lots of fun to drive.

That 'Stang doesn't look "classic" to me. It looks good, don't get me wrong. But it looks more "custom" than "clasic." I reserve that word for restored classics...

something bmwish, but a hatchback so I can actually transport stuff.
Since its a dream, the tank comes pre-filled with water which is the fuel, and its so efficient I never have to fill up again.

Cadillac STS-V

http://www.autobytel.com/content/sha...cle_id_int/393
"Developing 100 horsepower per liter, this new engine is capable of propelling the new 4,300-pound STS-V to 60 mph in less than five seconds. With 440 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 430 lb.-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm, the 2006 Cadillac STS-V's supercharged V8 engine is impressive, particularly when taking into account the fact that 90 percent of peak torque is available between 2,200 and 6,000 rpm."

This thread made me realize that I really don't have a dream car…

I actually like the silver, but this was a really cool picture of it in red.

...and I thought you would've picked the new Vette (or a classic one) as a dream car.

That's a certified Shelby GT-500E. That is what I was referring to earlier. Nice pick!

ghporter, that particular Mustang is a rare one, and is how it left the factory.

Carroll Shelby had his hands in it, which is why it looks as it does- I believe that's the Mustang GT500 Shelby with independent rear suspension (like a corvette has) - the only Mustang to have that suspension.

I'll post some of my favorites in a bit.

We're dreaming here, not what we can afford. I can afford a modern corvette. I don't have much desire for a classic one other than an early '70s model and I can afford one as well.
