We have been doing this "mac spotting" for a while where we make notes where we saw Apple product - in a movie, tv-series, contest, magazine etc. It has been quite fun and ultimate no-life hobby
I finally took some time and did a little website to make the job easier. There might still be few bugs to iron out, but hopefully someone will let me know if the site goes crazy I'm thinking about bringing picture upload if you guys like the site and it gets some visitors.

So I invite everybody here to waste their time with new hobby

You can find the site at:

Are you using Safari?

I just noticed it goes really weird with Safari, but it works perfect with Opera and Firefox. I wonder what I broke now

yes, if you want to cater to Mac users you better get the safari issue fixed ASAP.

Even more importantly you better add some content other than ads. Right now you have more ads that content. Actually you have ZERO content from what i see.

honestly, rent a bunch of movies and at the very least list the movies or TV shows they have been spotted in.

Even better take screengrabs and list the computer model.

You must have thought of that though.

Yes well, this is just something that me and my friends have been doing for sometime. It's not that serious. Maybe I could integrate picture uploading in it and people could upload photos. This is more like a group effort than myself listing where I have seen Macs. Wouldn't that be kind of dull?

you might want to put the what is mac spotting to the left hand side above the most spotted or something. having to scroll past that message to get to the actual content is a bit much. Also you might want to make the header image a lot smaller, it's huge.

Very interesting concept. I like the idea, but there needs to be more to it. I'm not going to read 10,000 posts of mac-spotting. Maybe include a summary section (like TV shows, Magazines, etc.) with totals by each section.

Keep it up, it may eventually catch on.

I think the site title graphic should be bigger.

For the record, I hope everyone knows I wasn't being serious.

There you go. I changed title graphics and I added categories. I'm still thinking about picture upload. There's just that even the site has been open for a short period there's been like twenty people trying to put their url's. I wonder what kind of pictures we would get

Mac Spotting: Local new cafe, B&W G3 running iTunes to play the same 2 CD tracks over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Fukuyama, Japan.

Nice changes; however, I would make the main title graphic a little more attractive. It needs to incorporate "Mac Spotting" in one way or another, instead of just the standard Apple logo. Add "dots" to it or something for the "spotting" effect for example.

Actually I lied. Thinking back on it, and checking with my friends who were with me, it turns out it was just the same sudo-french music track playing over and over again.

Besides that it was a rather nice cafe. (Though oddly we arrived at 11:25 walked in and told to come back in five minutes because the place didn't open until 11:30. Yeah, we all were confused on that one.)
