Alot of my friends prefer AMD, but they are gamers, and AMD CPUs generally do well at that.
EDIT:Feel free to add your own ideas (i.e. UltraSPARC)

I'd like to see AMD just so that Apple isn't stuck with Intel. More than one option is never a bad thing.

I'm more interested in mobile chips (as is the rest of the market) and with Intel's past and current performance, as well as their roadmap for the future, I think they are the way to go.
