I think we can all agree that the day of the PDA is going if not gone.

so we are not looking for another Newton.

but can we say the same for the PDA phone(ie blackberry,treo....)

why no mobile os x?

Huh ?

I can not agree, neither from a orthographic point of view, nor from a grammatical one.

Well then, don't post.

It's not like we needed this to survive. There are eleventy billion™ threads already on a mobile OS from Apple.

Look at your poll. Pathetic.

How are you going to get OSX on a tiny screen and memory chip?

Apple should create a totally new OS just for phones.

I would love to see Apple come out with a nicely designed cellphone featuring WiFi/VoIP integration. Maybe even an iChat (or better yet a Skype compatible) client…4 GB HD…I could see myself buying something like that.

If I change my way of living, and if I pave my streets with good times, will the mountain keep on giving…

I had to read this sentence like 5 times before I understood it, because I just assumed the 4 meant "for."

Yeah, if it wasn't for the fact that he was the threadstarter, and that Kr0nos' post actually made a lot of sense (more than the poll and the first post)

Question for you:
Who makes less sense?

a person who who makes a thread with no sense

or

a person who makes multiple(or even one) posts in a thread they deem has no sense

15 min. not up yet?

This seems very unlikely, to say the least. OSX barely manages on a 640x480 screen. Even the largest PDA/cell screens are less than one-quarter of the size.

Then there's the issue of hardware architecture. OSX wasn't made for embedded systems like phones: it's way too resource-intensive. All of the chips that OSX runs on draw way too much power to put into a cell phone, with the possible exception of the G3. You might be able to put a G3 into a cell phone, and this would be Very Cool. The G3 is one of the most powerful chips in the embedded space today, but it still wouldn't be enough to run OSX well. None of this even takes RAM into account; that would just make the problem worse.
