Moola is a new website, in private beta, that puts two visitors up against each other in a simple Flash game. The interesting thing about the site is that people are playing for real money.
This is from an article from TechCrunch about the latest internet 'game', and it sounds really interesting. It is in private beta for now, but I'm wondering if anyone has an invite to send out.

If anyone has played, what is it like? It smells like it could be a scam...?

I have two invites, first to PM's with email address get them. And just a heads up, the site doesn't support safari, so you have to use firefox. And you only have 15 minutes to PM me, then I'm leaving for work.

Right now I'm at $2600+. Should I cash out or keep going for that $10,000,000?

Well, you can spend as much as you'd like, you can log out and pick up again later. The games are only a couple of minutes long. I was bored at work last night and made it to level 18.

As for the money, supposedly you can cash out and get a check anytime you want. I think I'm going to give that a shot, since right now I have enough to cover a good portion of the new macbook and iMac I just ordered. I'll let you know if it turns out to be bunk.

What a buggy POS. in firefox the screen doesn't even draw properly on some pages then on the first 2 games I played half way through it lost the connection with Moola and it considered it as a loss and took my money.

I want my 5 cents back!

Ok, I have been playing for a while.

I'm not sure, but I do see the potential for a scam.

What's really weird is that your opponent almost never (maybe in 1-3% of the time) plays before you do. And even if you wait till the last second, he has 3 secs or so longer. Dunno if this is just the intarweb, but seems fishy to me.

Maybe I'm just too dumb, but it seems to me like the opponents "knew" what I was playing before they made their play.

Tied games are worth a lot. I played someone Rock Paper Sissors for 4 cents, but we tied at 19 stripes each. My pot grew to 11 cents. I should cash out and buy a gumball.

I was thinking the same thing until I got to the higher levels. Once you thin the herd, I think that there tends to be waiting for people to play you, and you wait longer while they find you an opponent. If someone is waiting on you to join the game, they seem to go first. I like the gold game better than rock paper scissors. But at the lower levels, I notice people don't like to give up the bonus, so after two or three ties, you can pick the object you don't get a bonus for and pick up big points. At the higher levels people have seemed to figure that out and it gets tougher.

Yeah, it is buggy on firefox SWG, but plays fine with IE on a windows box. Hopefully they will start supporting Safari soon, or fix whatever is wrong with FF. Anyone play using FF on windows?

Methinks, too.

I'm gonna stop wasting my time until someone really get's a check.

Meanwhile, I still think they can basically fcuk you up on a higher level by letting you play against a bot (of course, w/o you knowing). Bot wins, you lose all money, hence, they keep all the advertising income.

Nevermind bots. This is the problem: "Moola may decrease, without compensation, the number of Moola Points in your account at any time in our sole discretion."

So pretty much as soon as you want to cash out they can put it to $0 and say it is there right.

The way they also word it makes it sounds like they have never sent anyone a check.

Anyone interested in "a moola project"?

My mate and I are taking 3 additional persons. jolivierld@gmail.com
People in the EASTERN TIME or SOONER.

Thanks.

---

I probably have a 70% win rate for the gold game. Predicting is easy and almost never fails. You just have to keep in mind what the other guy has left and try to guess what he will play. Then you play that rock + 1, if you can. If you're ****ed, you play your 1... anyway...

Actually, even better. A tie at the rock-scissors-paper game gives you extra credit, everyone wins. It's only a coupel of cents though, to get to real numbers, you need the doubling effect. Combined it could be a way to do it though.
