This is kind of cool I guess. I saw on the news this morning that some NYC parks will get free Wifi. Central Park is supposed to have it ready by July.

That's all. .. . . .

Sweet! to NYC Parks & Recreation!

I should be living in the City by 1 August. I'm probably gonna live in Brooklyn, or maybe Harlem; Do you know if any of the parks in the outer boroughs will have free WiFi as well?
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

Yeah, they did mention something about Brooklyn also, but I'm not sure which park or parks to start. Maybe Prospect Park ?

It's been a while since I lived in NYC, but I remember Washington Sq. Park had free wifi when I was a student at nearby NYU. There was a real push a few years back, so I'm somewhat surprised that it's taken this long to wire up the parks.

My wife uses her powerbook outdoors all of the time. Of course, our sun (near Seattle) is rather weak. Don't all of your libraries already have wifi like ours? sam

I've never tried it, so I have absolutely no idea if it works or not.

re that thing

I have something similar from HoodMan to work in the summer and still be outside to keep the kids from drowning or something. Works pretty well too.

prospect park would be nice. The neighborhood is too full of anxious artists and authors camping out at coffee bars. Maybe some of them would go outside for a change.
